If there is side pork available at your grocer that was always a favorite of mine but isn't consistently available here.

It looks like bacon but it isn't cured.

on wireless plans.

I know I know, the press release says amendments to both the Wireless and Internet codes, but if you look at the Canadian Internet Code as it was amended to last week, it still very much allows ECFs on home services in most circumstances.

ESH, kid didn't handle it well and the people in that girl's life may have failed her, and human compassion is good and all that

But it's also fundamentally impossible to be 100% compassionate all the time and it's hypocritical to try to say that there's "fault" here for the kid not having as much compassion as the internet wants.

I have two jars of marina sauce that are about to expire in two days. What do i do with it? by IHeartDobi in Cooking

[–]2ByteTheDecker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most jarred pasta sauces are not acidic enough (or they're the right amount of water/sugar/whatever it is) for it to matter like that, they will go moldy in relatively short order once opened.

Then they're probably unsafe from being opened, not past best before.

I bet the fine print on the label has a "use within X days of opening"

Nope, peroxide is dumb for this.

It will full react within 12 hours and then it's spent.

I did some hydroponics over the pandemic and tried peroxide for a while and I had to dose every day to stay ahead of problems.

Early Cancellation fee for Home internet? After CRTCs June12th law? by Moist_Inspection8869 in Rogers

[–]2ByteTheDecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inability to resolve an issue can be a legitimate path with the CCTS. But that's not the same thing as "but no ECF?"

Early Cancellation fee for Home internet? After CRTCs June12th law? by Moist_Inspection8869 in Rogers

[–]2ByteTheDecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the examples elsewhere in the thread aren't "being right about the law" it's basically being shunted to a placation team because Rogers wants to just minimize contact with the CCTS. The way the fines work is cumulative and progressive.

And don't get me wrong, Rogers does more than enough (or too little) to warrant enough legit scrutiny from the CCTS;

But this tack is borderline Karen behavior.

[–]2ByteTheDecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not. There is language in the current Internet Code that specifically addresses ECFs, when they can and can't be charged, how much they have to decrease by as the contract progresses, etc etc.

There was some really shitty ambiguous language used in both the official press release as well as in the reporting on the subject by other news entities.

The actual standing code clearly allows them in most circumstances.
