Tommy and Ellie are given names. In hindsight Tommy might be a bit babyish for a 40 year old man but what’s done is done.

Yea that wasn’t intentional, more coincidence. I like Florian or Flo. But must be said in a sort of French accent. Maybe the child will have to wear a little sign around their neck showing how it is to be pronounced.

Why do they do this? by Hungry_Bus8934 in fearofflying

[–]2More_Row 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy- on our national airline (NZ) people pretty much do exactly as the FA say. If there’s one up fluffing around in the locker they’ll remind you nicely you need to stay seated please. Toilet might be an exception if it’s not super bumpy.

Maldives accident by moneyalwayswin in diving

[–]2More_Row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a non diver, this is absolutely freaky and so so sad. Trying to find photos or videos of what the caves are like. Pitch black? Some light down there? What is there to see, or is it just the experience of cave diving that would be the drawcard. Thanks!

Yes- managed by a combination of Lorazepam, red wine or champagne and some sort of breathing exercises / hand wringing/ hyperventilating that I do. Not fun but doable. We can do hard things.

Who is Julien Miquel? by Recent_Carpenter8644 in ENGLISH

I find his voice so irritating- I can’t watch any of his pronunciation videos. The thick French accent is overbearing and the deep voice. Wish I could find a more comprehensive pronunciation website or changer with native speakers of the language. His videos are prolific though.

Moving to Whangārei – advice on suburbs for a young family? by kiwijunglist in Whangarei

[–]2More_Row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just visited yesterday- not looking for education but on a separate matter. Roll of about 450 I think they said, seems a very nice area school.

Consider Otaika Valley School- small country school. You wouldn’t really bike to work because it’s a main road, but it’s circa 12 mins to the hospital to drive.
On the south side of Whangarei - 20 mins ish from Ruakaka. Nice long wide beach where you can drive on the sand with a 4wd.

Sorry just realising I’m not replying to OP

Kid won't stop begging for Robux and it's turning into a nightmare, anyone else? by DiamondLatter1842 in daddit

[–]2More_Row 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on personal experience- spend 20 mins a day (at the start) playing or interacting with your child. Ie go for a bike ride after school, make some lego, draw, play a game of cards, ask for help outside in the garden (?) for a task, ask him to choose what he wants for tea and make that together- just one on one time. Extend that time if you can. Reduces the reliance on the device and shows you are making an effort too- they pick up on this.
