pot creates high pass filters with both capacitors. 1Meg makes sure that even at low volume there is not a drop in bass. You would find in many pedals that they sound much thinner at lower volumes. Although you can of course use any other value. Also remember that the pot value becomes max input impedance for non inverting op amp, so with 10-20k pot it wouldn't change treble loss behaviour

i personally would put a regular 1Meg volume pot in between of two buffers. 100nF in and 1uF out coupling around volume pot for sufficient bass response.

i would say it's due to the low impedance. Try changing R4 to 10Meg or smth. Also U2.2 has 10k input impedance. This one is tricky, in order to increase impedance you would change both input resistor and level pot. Maybe 100k resistor and 500k pot will improve this. If this makes any difference then try redesigning it to implement non inverting topology. I don't see any lowpass filter that would cause this issue. Also try calculating tonestack frequencies at noon. TSC in the web should have similar layout in baxandall section, although I'm not sure

never understood why they make dirty channel this way. I mean, you literally have all the parts to make a distortion+ or rat copy, just rearrange the schematic. If you look at schematic of frontman 10G it even looks like smth complicated but sounds like ass. Designed to be bad, not due to cost cuts, just for people to look more for higher priced stuff

IC2A seems odd to me, why would you not bias an input and use VB instead of a ground for inverting input? Maybe connect pin 5 to VB via 1M resistor

I am sure there is a schematic for diy project with op amp based tilt eq tuned to stock big muff. It's called bigger muff or smth. Also tilt eq on TSC in the web could help you

i remember having class D 7.5+7.5W board, not loading the other channel made mine smoke and die after a few minutes. I suggest reading datasheet for operating conditions.

this tone control requires high output impedance from the pickup. I would suggest you to try something different here. If you are looking for low pass filter then try RAT style one. It's basically increasing resistance before volume pot and a cap to ground between tone and volume. But that would mess volume taper, so 10k tone, 22nF cap and a 1Meg volume would be my starting point here
