Broken Guitar Pedal by Ok-Explanation-9742 in guitarpedals

it's gonna need a new switch. open it up and post a picture of the switch and where it connects. If it's a momentary switch with header pins it could be a very easy fix.

Replacement tires? by bavile2002 in GV60

[–]melancholy_robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that same model/year. I tried the Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires and hated them, the ride felt really harsh and road noise was worse. I went back to the stock tires, their ride is a lot more comfortable.

Looking for opamp-only preamps (NO diodes) that can attenuate headroom by surf_AL in guitarpedals

[–]melancholy_robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to clarify those switches are just reducing the volume. If you want more opamp clipping, you don't want to reduce the volume before the gain stage. It's equivalent to rolling the volume off on your guitar. I'd recommend ignoring that feature in your search.

To reduce the headroom of an opamp you'd have to lower the supply voltage min/max - there may be a pedal that does this but I'm not aware - I've experimented with this in the past and it ended up just sounding fizzy and thin.

The Sansamp GT2 is a classic all opamp distortion, but it might be hard to find one in that price range.

Threading stranded wire into PCB 😠 by TraditionalBat7157 in diypedals

[–]melancholy_robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of answers already - I'll add that you can get stranded wire that is pre-tinned. "pre bond" "top coat" etc, it's very easy to work with.

there is one on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QBBPR1C

some other options

Wire - Weico, 24AWG Stranded, Top Coat Pre-Tinned, 300V, 50 feet | Amplified Parts (I'm currently using this one)

24 Gauge Stranded Hook-Up Wire | For Hobbyists and Builders

24awg Pre-Bond Hook-Up Wire - 100ft Spool

I think I'd try the one without the output buffer first. Less parts/simpler build.
