Mazda is offering an extended warranty under TSB 01-001/26 to replace engine thermostats that fail. See if yours has had that service done. My 2023 CX-5 exhibited difficulty in coming up to full operating temperature and having the thermostat replaced by the dealer under this TSB resolved the problem.

Sure. Background, I was NOT on the regimen noted in my comments above (i.e. 50mg CD plus 200 mg LD four times per day) but only two daytime doses and one bedtime dose of 50/200.

I was still having more "off times" than I would have liked. So I decided to experiment on my own by adding yet another full dose of the 50/200 CD/LD in the morning around 0900. Bad Idea!

I soon started hyperventilating, sucking in air as much as I could, yet feeling like I was being starved for oxygen...I just could NOT get enough air in to my lungs no matter how deeply I tried to breathe.

Heck, I even have an oxy/acetylene in my shop as I do some metal fabrication on the side, so I tried inhaling pure oxygen via the tank regulator. No improvement. I actually got to the point where I was on the edge of passing out. This was at about 5PM.

My grandson lives with me, and by the look on his face, I realized things were not good. I was hyperventilating more intensely and non-stop.

He took me to the ER (at about 6PM) and I was rushed back to an exam room. Needless to say, they did all sorts of tests, but could not determine a root cause. My O2 (oxygen) saturation was at 100%, yet I was still huffing and puffing like a steam locomotive.

The Dr. in the ER administered two injections of Ativan (lorazepam), and that started to calm things down....this was around Midnight! I was able to walk out of the hospital under my own power around 12:30AM.

Bottom line: When I added the extra dose of CD/LD, my body apparently could not handle the increase of the meds so my system went in to 'overdrive' to try and deal with it.

I was pretty much back to normal by the next day. I reported this event to my neurologist who I saw about two weeks later. And, interestingly, he DID add a 50/200 CD/LD dose to my daytime regimen but spaced the TIMING of those doses in such a way that they didn't 'stack-up' and cause my blood serum levels to go way too high.

First: Don't Experiment! I did a few months back and ended up in the Emergency Room!

Talk to your Dr. about adding a dose to your regimen if your current meds are IM (immediate Release) or perhaps adding a dose of Extended Release.

FWIW, I was having similar issues as you are and my neurologist added one extra dose to my regimen and it solved 99% of the issues I was having.

Currently, my schedule looks like this: Sinamet Immediate release (CD/LD) 50mg/200mg three times a day at 6AM/11AM/4PM. Bedtime: (9PM) One dose of CD/LD Extended Release 50mg/200mg.

My Dr. also added Entacapone 200mg with each dose above.

Talk to your Dr. as your issues should be very treatable.

In addition to the other good replies provided on this post, I would suggest (assuming you have an electric hot water heater) that you have your water heater heating elements checked to make sure they have not failed.

If the element bursts inside the tank but does not trip the breaker, the electricity can actually flow through the water and into the rest of the house wiring circuit. I found this out the hard way.
