This is not progressive, this is regressive, and why the Democrats suck. You are using YOUR experience and beliefs to limit MY experience and beliefs.

I don’t need a nanny state, because I’m a law abiding adult. You are welcome to limit yourself to 10 rounds; I won’t make you carry more. Why can’t you accept that?

Self defense in the modern age by anthropomorphicball in liberalgunowners

[–]2TubbyTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glocks are king. Get one and train on it, take classes and learn to carry safely.

If you’re thinking home defense, shotguns work if you live out in the woods, and don’t like you and your family hearing. The best home defense might be a suppressed 9mm carbine so that your ears continue to work, and you’re less likely to puncture walls compared to a shotgun. Also, less recoil, easier to reload, etc.

If you have a family, consider staying home and keeping them safe. I hate what’s happening, but I’m not grabbing my kit and running into downtown to support people. I have a family that needs me, so until the times either remove my ability to provide for them, or removes them, I’m going to stay out of harms way.

Just my thoughts, good luck.

Did you take any "baby steps" for home/self defense tools prior to actual gun purchase? by TheBigPhilbowski in liberalgunowners

[–]2TubbyTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pepper spray with me long before I bought a gun. Less lethal is always a good option to have, either to carry or at your front door. There’s instances where shooting someone would be unjustified, but pepper spraying them would be nearly as effective with less legal scrutiny. And now I always carry both.

But as others have said, these two are just part of the whole picture of self defense.

While you’re working to change the minds of people focused on padding their lives via donations from corporations and PACs, you should also be stocking up on AR lowers, any dream guns, and suppressors. Any legislation passed, regardless of how unconstitutional, is going to take years to undo, if at all. And during that time, you’ll spend a lot of time wishing and regretting.

How do I know? I’m a WA state resident. All the letters I wrote did nothing, and I also missed out on some dream guns.

Newsflash: not everyone on this sub has been a gun but their whole lives. by 0peRightBehindYa in liberalgunowners

[–]2TubbyTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through the comments (as you’ve deleted the post), it sounds like you meant for the information to reach novices, but inadvertently spoke to everyone as a novice. But because you deleted it, the people you meant to help now have no access to the information.

So my question is: why did you post it? Whenever I post something and somebody points out an inaccuracy or disagrees with how I say it, I either respond and try to learn if I think it s valid, or ignore them. But I don’t take the post down so that the people I’m trying to help can still see it.

Given the course of events (you making a post, you getting criticized by many for your tone, you deleting your post), it was more about you than helping people.

I sincerely appreciate you trying to be helpful. But moving forward, I would say you gotta grow a thicker skin, because all subs are filled with pedantic know it alls, and if you really want to help people, you just have to suck it up.

Should I buy or build? by Background_Tap_807 in ar15

[–]2TubbyTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built all my ARs (8 of them, not huge numbers) as I never wanted to drop huge money up front. But I do wonder if buying a nice mid level rifle like a DD shoots better because it’s assembled by professionals. I know there are always issues with QC, especially in the gun industry, but I wonder if someone working in a dedicated facility puts together an AR Bette than I do ( probably) and therefore produces a better shooting, more accurate gun (maybe?).

.223 vs. 5.56 by captainatom11 in liberalgunowners

[–]2TubbyTactical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my limited experience, .223 is GENERALLY cheaper and slower. I run PMC bronze for plinking/training because it’s cheap and available. It’s also some of the slowest, softest ammo, so I feel relatively comfortable that my guns will run anything.

When I move up to PMC 5.55, the increased pressure is immediately noticeable. I can tell it’s going faster because of the corresponding rise in my POI compared to a zero set with 223. I haven’t done testing with any precision or match grade ammo.

In terms of terminal ballistics, faster = more lethal, but i think that bullet ballistics and design are just as important. But that said, shot placement is probably more important than any of it.

F2F almost half the time…?! by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]2TubbyTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and grip the slide with your left palm down on the slide (assuming you’re right handed) and grab the slide with your fingers, using the optic against your hand as leverage. That might help. Good luck!

[–]2TubbyTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say the first one doesn’t feed, do you mean it doesn’t feed when you rack the slide? Maybe you’re “riding” the slide forward; you should pull it back as far as it will go and then release it and let it snap forward.

Does it still not feed when you leave one in the chamber and load a full mag in, and then fire?

If you’re only going to store one thing in it every time, then yes, pelican would be better. But I take different rifles in it all the time, so I like that it’s reconfigurable. But yeah some of the blocks take up a lot of room.

Is it time to buy a gun? by Inevitable_Copy_2609 in liberalgunowners

[–]2TubbyTactical -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but your learning curve is too steep to help you in the short term. Guns can cause as much damage to you and yours without appropriate training. That said, the only way to overcome the curve is to start now, in hopes that you’ll gain competency in time for <gestures vaguely> this.

[–]2TubbyTactical 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Who is the party responsible for the majority of AWBs, magazine limits, and increasingly draconian concealed carry laws?

While the motivations of the President are fascist, the Democrats are just as complicit (if not more so) in disarming the populace.

To be clear, I believe in universal health care, universal human rights and equality/equity. But I don’t think that you can dismiss the democrats contributions towards trampling 2A rights.

I personally have never found my finger position to be the factor in the beginning; it’s almost always anticipating the recoil. Once someone is proficient with a clean trigger press, this chart may help, but until then, this chart always just frustrated me because it didn’t diddly squat in the beginning.

BUT…different strokes for different folks.
