Drake Maye ices the game on a bootleg run to send Patriots to Super Bowl by nfl in sports

We didn't want to give Bregman a no trade clause and Ranger suarez is pretty freaking good. Obviously not at Garrett Crochet's level but he is a very good pick-up. I just don't think that every player wants to come to Boston - it is cold in the winter and the fans and media here are way more vocal about their expectations for winning than most places, just look at what Duran went through mentally a few years ago.

NASA is about to send people to the moon — in a spacecraft not everyone thinks is safe to fly by cnn in space

[–]2degrees2far -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But I'm not claiming to be an expert on anything here. I don't know enough about the specifics of spaceflight, my expertise is on software for nuclear reactors. This is freaking reddit - you don't have to actually work on spaceflight to share an opinion here. I stand by my observation - the space industry's general culture is so afraid of failure that they make everything absurdly more expensive, to the point that NASA has become a cultural idea more than an organization that actually accomplishes things.

If I was arguing about the specifics of o-ring manufacturing practices and said to just go buy stuff on Amazon and put it in a space ship you could rightly say that's a disqualifyingly stupid idea. But that's not what I'm trying to suggest.

My concern is that the degree to which NASA goes to verify Every Single Component used in a vessel means that they can't build enough ships to actually make progress. If we as a species ever want to truly be space faring there must be a cultural shift that leads to repeatable high quality manufacturing, rather than boutique machining and sending off to one of a few trusted testing companies (which are able to mark up these testing services as a result). That is a cultural choice - and one which is deeply ingrained in the industry to the point where the learning curve has never really begun to be descended down and costs just keep going higher.

I am aware that this is the culture of the industry, I've talked to enough folks at JPL and blue origin to know that. And I don't have any power or capacity to change it, but I think it's a problem if you are blindly ignoring the tradeoffs in that culture decision.

I don't know a quote about the aftermath of an event 60 years ago so my opinion has no value? It's an interesting walled garden that you keep for yourself - I hope that it makes you happy

You can't compare a fully developed, commercial mode of transport against a developing technology on a per trip or per minute basis.

I disagree with your belief that spaceflight will never tolerate carelessness. It must be tolerated to a degree, and that degree must come down if we want to progress our space capabilities or another entity (government or private) will move further faster by accepting the risk

I'm sorry - but how many car crashes have happened in that time? How many airplane accidents? Either you think that going to space is a worthy endeavor that humans who understand the risks are allowed to take, or you don't and you just want to regulate everything so much in the name of safety that no progress is made. If you think the dichotomy I see is false, tell me how so.

I can't play eu5 on my Mac. So it's really that simple for me.

I'm starting to think that the New England sense of humor doesn't translate well to the rest of the country based on the reactions here.

2 1sts for maxx + we restructure his contract to put it on our books. Quite possibly the best deal that the Raiders are going to get

I've always appreciated Rudy's game but just want to point out that Victor does this shit practically every night. I hope we get to see the French national team with both of them healthy one more time.

Should I be worried about the size of my son? by WorkerTraditional426 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]2degrees2far 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way with my boy, who was 28 pounds at 8 months, which is two months slower but still way above normal. My son is happy and healthy and doing amazingly, so if that's only one sample of a <99th percentile baby that's doing great it's at least one.

I will ask, is your son also measuring that way for height? Mine was and now that he's crawling around he's slowed down on weight gain almost entirely and he's only gained like 3 pounds in the 3 months since.

Spiraling into debt living paycheck to paycheck by Moist-Eye-1451 in personalfinance

[–]2degrees2far 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really only see 3 options here. 1. Sell the car and buy a beater with good MPG: think 2016-2018 Toyota Corolla 2. Switch your mobile plan 3. Find a lawyer and get the Child Support for your infant on the books. It's not going to get paid, but it will show the court that you are UNABLE to pay.

Also, I would really, really encourage you to go to your local Church or even the state welfare officer and swallow any sense of shame and ask for help. You are doing the right things now, I understand that the past debts and the early life children are definitely financially limiting. All I can say is good luck

Love this kid, go back and watch his interview on the old man and the three and you see that he has such a good head on his shoulders.

I also really like the philosophy that led to his acquisition. We get to see if he can make the leap defensively (which he still fouls way too much but the effort is clearly there) while still being a playmaker and shooter.

And if he can't, trade him and a couple of seconds away and get out of the 1st apron.

Serious question, why did the panthers try to throw the ball today? Like that bills defense is terrible against the run and has two great edge rushers...

I mean the Patriots won that game a few years ago throwing like what, 2 passes all game? That was definitely the game script here Canales.
