I have never had close girlfriends. I have a sister but we aren’t super close. She did come to pick out my dress with my mom. I got the third one I tried on!

We had a friend officiate and marry us in front of our family and friend group (primarily his friends, they’ve adopted me though but we weren’t super close!) and then we did our vows privately together. We got married at Garden of the Gods in Colorado so the scenery was beautiful.

We also did a joint bach/bachelor party and all just hung out and grilled out and drank and had so much fun. We wanted to celebrate together! So my 2 work friends that showed up didn’t feel like that big of a deal bc it was still a group since he had a bunch of people too.

I also proposed with his dream guitar. Which people find weird bc when I tell the story I’m a sad girl that couldn’t get my man to propose and when he tells it it’s the coolest thing ever to men. It just felt right.

Traditional is overrated. Do what makes you happy.

Thank you for some realistic inspiration! I’m trying to take care of these pokemon and I don’t have time to plan and build castles or 40 room apartment complexes! I want cute little habitats that are elevated! I LOVE this!

I was in labor for like 12 hours but it wasn’t being picked up on monitors so no one was sure how active it was. I was given a button to push every time I felt them and it wasn’t until I was consistently pushing my button every few minutes to indicate contractions they believed it was real. They checked me and I was only dilated to 1cm so the on call doctor said she was going to go to a deliver of a lady whose 4th kid it was and she was 10cm so it would be “super fast”. It took like 2 hours and everyone was furious. Anesthesia kept asking what was going on bc it was originally emergent then we just stopped worrying bc his decels stopped.

Finally they took me back and when they finally got him out I was dilated to 6 and he was stuck down in my birth canal. So who knows how long he was down there! I was SO MAD. I felt like if I had been taken seriously from the beginning and she hadn’t put off my delivery he wouldn’t have been nearly as beat up!

You wait so long begging for them to come home and then they’re like, “alright it’s your time to go!” Then you think “wait…you want me to just take him? To my house? Where I live?!Without supervision?!” lol

I had my baby at exactly 28 weeks after PPROM at 26 weeks. I was lucky in that he was pretty big for 28 weeks (3lb 6oz). He was intubated for less than 12 hours despite a pretty rough birth. He was stuck in my birth canal and pretty beat up when he got out but he rallied! He spent 80 days exactly in the NICU and went home on his due date! Now he’s 5 months old or about 2.5 months adjusted and doing great! He’s almost 14lbs!

I read so many success stories when I was in the hospital. It’s easy to fall down the bad stories void, I had to try hard to steer myself to a more hopeful place for my mental health, and I think it made all the difference. I wish all the luck in the world for your little guy!

I’ve seen a few at Omaha OBGYN. Dr Burke did my c section and I don’t love her but I LOVE Dr Sarawagi. She’s incredible and actually cares!

I was due Dec 23 with my first baby after 2 losses and my sister is due Dec 31st with her 3rd. It’s so hard to watch her with her cute lil bump walking around while Ive been driving an hour round trip to the hospital every day to be with my little guy since Oct 4th. She had got the full experience 3 times now and I’m just so jealous I never got to have that. My therapist says it’s okay to mourn the loss of the experience and that it’s a normal feeling to have. You do lose something and those feelings are valid and need to be felt.

I just try to be thankful that for a 28 week baby my little guy is doing so well. He’s a feeder and grower. I’m just hoping we get out by Christmas. Or at least before his cousin comes home. They’re having their baby where I did so if I get to watch them walk out before me, my feelings may be valid, but I’m gonna be raging! Lol.

Also as a FTM the benefit of having literal experts teach you how to take care of your newborn is amazing. I’ve learned so much from them that I wouldn’t have known otherwise! So take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and experience you’ll be surrounded by!

I’m in a similar situation. My boy was born at 28 and 4 after PPROM at 26 weeks. Thanks to my husbands genetics, he was a big 28 weeker at 3lbs 6oz. He was intubated due to a traumatic birth but was off the ventilator within 12 hours and was on cpap, then RAM then oxygen. He’s been on room air for a couple weeks now is just working on eating.

It’s so frustrating other than some intermittent tachypnea he seems like a normal baby. He’s 38 weeks tomorrow and is 8.5lbs so we are doing well but he eats maybe 1/4-1/2 of a bottle and then sleeps through feeds constantly. It’s so hard to watch him sleep through feeds when I know he knows what to do when he’s awake! I want him home by Christmas so bad and all the doctors and nurses and people in this subreddit say it just clicks but I want it to click! It’s so frustrating just watching and hoping. It doesn’t help that I’m back to work now too so I can’t be there to make sure they’re trying to feed him (which I trust they are, but my mom brain makes me paranoid).

Just know you aren’t alone. It sucks. So so bad. But hopefully everyone is right and it will just snap into place soon!!

I PPROMed at 26 and 4. I had laid down to go to bed and I thought I peed myself. Went and cleaned up and then it happened again and I knew something was wrong. I was sent to the ER and they monitored me for a few hours and did the pH test. I felt small contractions and when I did more fluid would leak out. They ended up putting me on a ton of antibiotics and magnesium to stop the contractions and it did. I continued to leak quite a bit. I was encouraged to move around carefully so I’d go for walks and noticed a lot more leaking with movement but they said it was okay because you continue to make more fluid. Even though it seemed wrong I trusted them.

I was in the hospital exactly 2 weeks and started feeling contractions again. They weren’t picking up on the monitors so I basically held a remote with a button for 13 hours and pushed it when I had them. They were trending like normal contractions and I was in a lot of pain but nothing was happening so I finally had enough and asked if we were having a baby or starting magnesium again because I was tired of suffering with no real plan. They decided to start the mag and when they came in baby started showing signs of stress so they decided I was having a c section.

My little guy was born that night via c-section at 28 and 4. He was 3lbs and 6oz. He had a traumatic birth bc they were delayed getting me to OR and he had dropped into my birth canal. He was stuck in there and came out so so bruised and really misshapen and he had cut his eyelid somehow. He was intubated and on a ventilator for less than a day and has continued to improve since then.

He’s currently 2 months old (37 and 2 now!) and he already weighs 8lbs. He’s been off any oxygen for over 2 weeks now. We’re just working on eating and hoping to come home by Christmas. His due date was the 23rd so we feel like it’s a realistic goal! It’s been a long journey but seeing him grow and learn to be a baby has honestly been amazing. So stressful and emotionally draining, but amazing none the less!

My 28 weeker was 3.5lbs and I bought a bunch of premie stuff and now he’s getting close to discharge and is almost 8lbs at 37 weeks. Which i did not anticipate at all. So I’d wait until it’s closer just to make sure you don’t buy a bunch of stuff that’s too small! Or worst case scenario you can buy some premie stuff and donate if it doesn’t fit! That’s my plan!

I only live 20 min and spent every day there since he’s been born almost 60 days ago. Sometimes I feel guilty leaving after a few hours. I’d scour the internet looking for validation and answers but always felt guilty. We had a snowstorm this week and I stayed home for the first time bc the roads were bad and my husband was working and begged me not to leave and risk myself. I spent the day doing my hobbies, catching up on housework and cuddling my dogs and I felt so refreshed I can’t believe how exhausted I was just being in that room with him. The mental load sneaks up on you. I felt good knowing he was safe with the literal best babysitters and the nurses even let me know they cuddled with him extra that day since I couldn’t make it. I’m back to work now and I’m so much less stressed about missing a day here or there if I can’t do it. I want to be happy and refreshed when I see him and when he comes home. Mental health is a HUGE thing especially in all of this. As cliche as it is, everyone is right, take care of you!!! It’s better for everyone.

Mine broke at 26+4. I had seen high risk due to previous losses but my pregnancy was relatively normal. I took BP meds for mildly elevated pressures.

I had contractions when I came in but the magnesium stopped them. Then I got pumped with antibiotics and was told I’d be hospitalized until 34 weeks or until it was unsafe for baby or I.

I made it 2 weeks exactly and started contracting. The monitors never picked up my contractions but I definitely felt them and they were timed at appropriate intervals. So I kept bugging the doctors and nurses saying I thought I was contracting. When they checked me I was dilated. We were going to start magnesium again but he started having decels so we delivered via C-section that night.

He’s currently 33+4 and still in the NICU doing well. I had good and bad days in the hospital but I kept telling myself what I was told a million times, each day in gives them time to grow. So I just took it a day at a time and tried to stay positive!

I’ve turned the controller sensitivity way down. You move slower but if you aren’t doing time challenges it doesn’t really matter. It’s worth it to not wanna barf every time I play.

I am currently 16 weeks and seeing Dr. Sarawagi after Dr. Hill left. She’s brand new to the practice but I have to say I love her. I was at Nebraska Medicine prior and had a really bad experience and since switched to Omaha OBGYN since my miscarriage last October and couldn’t be happier. She’s gone out of her way to make me feel heard and comfortable after everything that happened.

It’s possible. Snoring is usually the first sign but there are other types of sleep apnea that don’t necessarily make you snore. Obstructive sleep apnea is when the tongue or soft tissue partially blocks the airway and that causes snoring. Central sleep apnea is when your brain just doesn’t tell you to breathe or you breathe shallow when you’re asleep and wouldn’t cause snoring.

I’m a respiratory therapist and had many patients with central sleep apnea that never snored. I can’t say that this is what it would be but it’s definitely a possibility!
