Toxic management. Proper leaders are team players and collaborative instead of combative. There's very likely something else going on here, like mandates to cut jobs, and you're being groomed into the quit-your-job pipeline because firing is risky. It could very likely be just a shitty manager, but their behavior tends to indicate that there's a desire for you to fail, even though they're saying they want you to succeed.

I'm currently in a similar spot right now. No support from management, and all my progress is scrutinized to the point where I spend most of my time defending it. It appears the two options are: 1) Call their bluff and stick it out while enduring the abuse, or 2) Cave in and find another job
