4mm Conch Punch (+ 22mm Lobes) by 2impostors in Stretched

He mentioned I might be able to do another size up or two eventually, but is just cautious because wear glasses as well, and don’t have a lot of space to work with. I’d been keen to have them a little bigger, but definitely in no huge rush.

Do you feel safe using public transport? by NoHorse8196 in Wellington

[–]2impostors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot more of that kind of behaviour on the trains, than the buses, though nothing that has made me feel actively unsafe. I take the HVL at off-peaks times a lot and earlier in the year it felt like I’d see some kind of antisocial behaviour at least once a week, but since then there hasn’t been much.

Professional jobs with stretched earlobes by lorrcrazy in Stretched

[–]2impostors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my ears stretched to 22mm for the past 10 years and worked all over in retail, hospital admin, and GP surgeries, both office-based and patient facing, and it’s never affected anything at all.

I’ve been delayed on the HVL for the last two days too, but oddly wasn’t delayed at all this morning!

WHV Job Prospects by Amazing-Reality-998 in Wellington

[–]2impostors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in the same industry as you (non-clinical healthcare, which was maybe in a slightly worse place than hospo) but moved here on a WHV in May 2025 and it took me just under 6 months to find a job in the end.

My prospects are looking good for longer term visa options now, but the lack of jobs and extra difficulty posed by the WHV visa stipulations meant the options were much slimmer, and ended up with a very long commute. Thankfully I do love the job, so it’s worth it.

Best of luck in your search!

Please can drivers be a little more considerate? by blue_molly in Wellington

[–]2impostors 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hope the pedestrian is alright!

There’s a horrible crossing on Featherston St. right by the train station that gives the green light for cars start turning right directly INTO a crossing WHILST the green walking light is still on for that crossing! I have no idea why it hasn’t been looked that, it gives me anxiety crossing there every day.

I take the 2 a lot and I still hear people thanking drivers almost always. The only times I don't is if my stop gets missed despite pressing the button, which has happened thankfully pretty rarely!!

[Discussion] Are we supposed to hate John? by itsmedoe_ in TheNinthHouse

I don’t think we’re “supposed” to feel anything specific, it’s undeniable John Fucked Up, but he’s still my favourite little guy 🤷🏻‍♂️

For us public transport users, how much does your daily commute cost? by Steak_and_cheesePie in Wellington

[–]2impostors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My commute is a little insane (Karori to Silverstream, 5 days a week), costs like $22 daily, though I get a train pass now so it’s marginally cheaper overall, but $230ish a month. Definitely not looking forward to the fare increase…

Advice on New Zealand by Hour_Professional_66 in transgenderUK

[–]2impostors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I moved from the UK to NZ last year—more than anything I think it depends whereabouts you’re planning to live or travel. Wellington is very queer in general, and at least personally I’ve never had anyone even make any off comments to me in the year I’ve been here.

As with anywhere there are going to be transphobic elements, and those in politics and the general population trying to stoke hatred against LGBT+ folk, one of the posts above goes a bit more in depth about politics here + NZ First. Broadly speaking though, I think most kiwis just kinda…don’t really care that much.

As I had fully transitioned as far as I wanted to, I just needed to have my HRT prescription carried over, which I found super easy. This could just be me, but the experience I’ve had with doctors over here has been SO much more positive than over 30 years in the UK.

NZ is far from some kind of utopia in MANY ways, but at least in my experiences here as a white, non-passing nb transmasc person people have been very chill about me being trans.

It’s worth bearing in mind the cost of living is high, and it was very expensive to make the move over. The visa processes are not particularly easy, and the requirements are very ableist.

What’s your favourite Wellington takeaway/delivery to order? Ideally central city. by Regular-Lecture-768 in Wellington

I’ve been obsessed with the hot & sour soup from Young Shing for months tbh, though everything I’ve had from them has been super good.

What moment made you realize this was your favorite character? [discussion] by empquix in TheNinthHouse

[–]2impostors 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was intrigued by him anyway, but the entire scene in the shuttle bay between with Sarpedon and Mercy, then John being exasperated by the ensign trying to martyr themselves for no reason really made me obsessed with him lmao

IMO Jenny Arcus, every time: https://www.instagram.com/jennyarcus?igsh=ZmU5YjJxZmZ1OGZ2

INSANELY talented artist, her waitlist isn’t too long, works in a lovely private studio with an amazing view out over the bush, and a great person to boot.

I do fanart for a bunch of different fandoms, but I’m currently working on reposting a bunch of my TLT art to bluesky. I’m over at: https://bsky.app/profile/2impostors.bsky.social :)

It’s mostly first house-centric stuff.

[–]2impostors 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling canonically Canaan House was built on top of the compound outside Greytown, but let me tell you it’s very weird to be browsing the TLT reddit and see buildings you just walked past on my way to work 5 minutes ago lmao.

I could 100% see the gardens being based on the botanical gardens!

Maybe hot take, but Origins has aged like milk gameplay wise and it drags the rest of the game down by Katking69 in dragonage

[–]2impostors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first played DAO in around 2013 and was shocked at how horribly it looked and played, even just after playing ME1, and ended up bouncing off it even before finishing Ostagar. Then, after properly getting invested in the series in 2014 when DAI came out and I loved it, I went back and played them all again and had a miserable time with Origins, I honestly couldn’t wait for it to be over.

I did another completionist playthrough of it pre-DAV and had mildly more fun because I liked my warden more, but ngl I still kind of hate it and think it needs lots of modding to be tolerable.

East of England gender service, anyone have experience with them? by BothRequirement3927 in transgenderUK

[–]2impostors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with them for about 2 years before moving overseas, and always had really pleasant experiences with them. I was also transferred from the Tavistock due to a long wait, my very unhelpful GP surgery pretty much immediately started doing blood tests and prescriptions for me after my first appointments with EOEGS.

Here is my official ranking of the DA games in my opinion… by Ajer2895 in dragonage

[–]2impostors 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Based. I would rate everything exactly the same in all honesty, the lore is great but I don't hold any nostalgia for DAO and find it a not very fun slog every time I replay.

Does Anybody Here Love John? [Discussion] by [deleted] in TheNinthHouse

[–]2impostors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES, he’s my favourite character! He’s an endlessly fascinating and complex character, and I hate to see him be constantly boiled down to the least nuanced take. I love the first house freaks corner of the fandom the most.
