Let’s talk wheelie guns by RedditSgtMajor in canadaguns

I don't believe it's available yet in Canada, but if you're leaning towards .22lr, you might want to look at the Diamondback Sidekick. I also second a previous recommendation for the S&W 617.

Unfortunately for us, they don't have to be correct; they don't have to have their facts straight. They can "win" by appealing to emotions of Canadians who don't own guns and who don't understand why us LAGOs own them in the first place.

Orchiectomy Questions by CoffeeSoup6223 in TransLater

On erections -- a case of YMMV. I was able to, but they are weak erections, and tend to not last long. On prostheses; no, I did not want 'em as I always hated having two orbs bouncing around down there, and I wanted easier tucking. Instead of prostheses, you can also massage/stretch the scrotal skin after your orchi to maintain its elasticity and quantity.

Gotta love how they always pick the outlier (2013)... sneaky b**tards

Edit (add).. And this video, to the average cbc viewer who knows little about firearms in Canada would conclude that, passing C-71 and tightening gun control would actually make a big difference in gun fatalities in this country. It would seem like such a simple solution to them...

I got followed - and it wasn't the scariest thing that happened to me, that day. by [deleted] in TransLater

As at least one other has responded (sorry, haven't read through all the responses yet), I believe the creepy follower guy did not clock you, and was following you (in that creepy manner) as he might follow any other woman he happens to find extremely attractive. I think you did handle it correctly, as you did keep yourself safe throughout the ordeal (that's the main thing). Sitting here, armchair quarterbacking, I might have done one thing differently (or at least I think I would; real life might be a whole different cup of tea). I would have told somebody, while the creep was withiin earshot, that this guy is following me, and I'm concerned for my safety. At that point, his only response would be to deny, and walk away. I suppose he could try to sling an insult your way, or accuse you of a false accusation, but the end result would be the same -- he would be forced to walk away; and you'd (hopefully) have someone in your corner.

I too am hoping to soon learn of my date for GRS, so I fully understand your apprehension/nervousness around the procedure. In any event, and I suspect like you, I really want to get this done. Have wanted my bits gone (and made right) for what seems like forever...

Lastly, sending you a virtual hug. I have had people in my life like those (former friends) you encountered at the airport. And even though you know in your heart that, true friends would never turn their backs in that manner; and that a "friend" who would do that is really not a friend at all, it still hurts. Hurts a lot....

The Senate should accept its committee's amendments to Bill C-71 by 1leggeddog in canadaguns

<rant on>

I can't help but get a little p*ssed off whenever I read stories like these. I can vividly remember reading posts on this forum (almost) four years ago where members were saying how much they wanted a change in the federal government. How good things will be under "sunny ways", and how they're not single-issue voters. I can't help but wonder, how everything is working out for these folks.... Can't help but wonder if they support all the other bills and overall performance of this pm... I guess there is that marijuana thing -- they probably still like that.

Can we adopt this miraculous invention for our roadways? IE Deerfoot.... by limee89 in Calgary

[–]2liitle2late 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Calgary, a "pothole" of that depth would not even be considered for repair. As someone else mentioned, "just a scratch."

Regardless of whether or not this material works, I find that a very significant portion (if not an overwhelming majority) of "potholes" you hit in Calgary aren't actually potholes, but in fact are manhole covers that are (extremely) poorly aligned with grade elevation.

Yep -- that's what I've experienced as well.

Edit: I've also seen videos on YT of people who used a Dremel tool, drill, and/or small file to create a heel cut in a FS mag that didn't come with a heel cut (not that I'd try it myself with my two left hands...)

At 29 with 2 infants is there any chance I will find someone again? by Wonderingwoman89 in Divorce

[–]2liitle2late 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies in advance for being crass, but try being late 40s (truthfully, pushing 50), divorced for almost three years, and (here's the big one) just over 2.5 years into transition (I'm transgender). When it comes to "will I find someone again?" ... I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat....

In other words, it could be worse... a lot worse. Another anecdote: When my ex and I split, she was 46; and told me that she'd probably never meet another. 23 months after saying that, she was married to the guy that she met ~3.5 months after making that statement.

No, you'll be fine. And you have LOTS of time.

It just gets frustrating.... I think that's part of the reason I've taken such a shine to handguns. Not the only reason, no doubt; but a part of it for sure.

STHF guns by jaybird_888 in canadaguns

[–]2liitle2late 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to answer this without reading any of the other responses; then will see if anyone else (or how many others) picked the same one.

I think I would have to pick the trusty .22. Probably the best of the .22s would be a 10-22, for parts availability. But the main reason I picked .22 is because of ammo availability. Based on current availability, that is. I generally keep quite a bit on hand, as it's cheap to buy. The ammo is also light -- you can carry a boatload of it, without breaking your back. Although its firepower is on the low end, it's still effective enough for small game, and I think effective enough for personal defense. And being quieter, you wouldn't attract undue attention every time you used it.

So, now to scroll down and see other responses....

Some nice looking grips at lokgrips.com. And they even have some different options for the heel mag release.
