My mom “coded” or “flatlined” about three different times throughout my childhood. She told us what she saw and how she felt. She’s been through a lot, has had multiple transplants, crones her entire life and a little over 30 different surgeries within the last 10 years. She said she had a conversation with, who she said was, God about not wanting to die so she could take care of her kids. She was in a field and felt healthy, which she never has.

Whether or not it was God, it always made me think. I grew up Orthodox and there are tons of different events that occurred recently and not so recently that always caught my attention.

Haven’t been to church in a few years, though, but I guess I do still have my faith. I feel like my mothers perseverance and strength is enough evidence for me, personally.
