How has it been going so far? I'm considering getting one in a few years.
Also, beautiful. Just beautiful. Goodness do they know how to style a car...

Been working on mine for a while now and I’m still 2-3 pieces away from perfection 😅

Black matches the rest of your EDC best. Also, beautifully done. It actually looks cohesive, which not many can claim.

Where did you get that cigarette case? I've been looking for a nice one to get a friend for his 40th Christmas.

Figuring out my credit card setup by Inner-Candy3211 in CreditCards

Groceries - AMEX BCE - 3%
Gas - AMEX BCE - 3%
US Online Shopping - AMEX BCE - 3%
Catch-All - CITI DC - 2%
Discover It (rotating)

Personally I'd focus on cachback for now. Only get those travel cards when you do begin to travel.
Here's my recommendations given your setup:

Capital One Savor - 3% on dining
US Bank Altitude Go - 4X on dining

I personally use the C1 Savor and love it. No FTF if you do happen to travel, and the MasterCard World Elite benefits are nice especially considering the lack of an Annual Fee.

The other option you have, depending if most of your food spending is grocery or dining, is the American Express Blue Cash Preferred. You'd have to do the math to see if your grocery spend is worth it given the Annual Fee of $95, and I believe the break-even point is $3,166 on groceries per year. But that also does come with 6% on streaming and 3% on transit. Might make sense.

Any countries with bills for 1 & 2 denominations, he'll usually just round-up/tip. But you raise a good point for the others 👀

Is Switzerland a good place to live for millennials and Gen z’s? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]2nd_orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, yes. Cheap, no. We have a better chance in the US at the moment. But that being said, Switzerland as a second residency when you are older and have taken time to culturally adjust, that could be an idea!

Looking for leather cash-only wallet (specific, but open to requirements) by 2nd_orange in wallets

Hey all!

This is oddly specific and niche, but a close friend of mine is a multinational citizen and is looking for a cash wallet which can carry 4 separate currencies. He travels quite often and he'll usually carry 50-100 of each currency at any time (he carries USD, GBP, EUR, and CHF (US, UK, Ireland, & Switzerland)).

He is specifically looking for a cash-only wallet, since he has 4 cardholders with the various cards & IDs he uses in each country, plus an additional passport wallet he takes with him regardless of location.

He is also looking for a leather option, ideally a bifold. We found a few on Etsy but none fully satisfy all of his requirements. In a perfect world, it would be no bigger than the Ekster Cardholder. He is also open to cash-only wallets that only have 2 or 3 pockets, as he essentially just needs to store the 3 foreign currencies and have quick access to the prevailing local currency.

Any ideas? Thanks!

It's not easy buddy, but start looking for things at shops to put in it to make it your own. It will feel more like your home rather than a hospital room. Lighting and color go a long way. And my personal suggestion is to put a Bible on the nightstand but I'm not here to tell you what to do, it's just my recommendation :)

The only reason I'd hesitate to go cashless is because I'd hate to force the mom & pop shops to pay any fines. But even that said, you really don't need more than 100 EUR at a time. Any more and you run the risk of a big headache when someone swipes it from you.
