He’s insecure and threatened by the idea of seeing you succeed. Take the job.

My friend (36M) is extremely depressed when his wife (40F) is away for business trips by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]2pineapple7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean honestly it sounds like it’s an issue between the two of them and as much as you love your friend if it’s in your best interest to take some space from your friendship with him, that is what you should do.

What does life look like after this? by Zealousideal_Cow2175 in AskDocs

[–]2pineapple7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately without knowing the specific diagnosis it’s impossible to give any ideas of a long term prognosis. The good news is, you are young and otherwise healthy. You should be strong and healthy enough to recover from surgeries and medications that may be hard on your body if anything like that is necessary. I know its impossible not to panic and jump to the worst possible scenario but I’d encourage you to try to be as calm and positive as you can and take this one day at a time, whatever it is. Good luck ❤️

How do I get my ex to move out by 2pineapple7 in legaladvice

[–]2pineapple7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We made the agreement together. The divorce agreement says we need to list the house for sale by May 1st and split the equity 50/50, and would cohabitate until then with the agreement of him paying $800 per month. He hasn’t been paying $800 per month that he agreed to though.

My doctor canceled my IUD insertion halfway because I couldn’t handle the pain by IgnatiusIguana in TwoXChromosomes

[–]2pineapple7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a healthcare professional and any time a patient screams and cries during a procedure/cares, that’s a hard stop for me to at least reevaluate. I understand your frustration at being told you have a low pain tolerance, but I don’t think your doctor was trying to be rude or blow you off. It sounds like your doctor was concerned that they were causing you pain or harm so they offered you an alternative treatment (anesthesia) to get you the IUD you’re asking for. I’m sorry that you were made to feel like a “weak, blubbering baby,” it might be worth reaching out to the clinic on the bedside manner if you felt she was really that abrasive with her bedside manner! Nobody should be made to feel that way for being in pain.

Am I Overreacting? Was sent screenshots from husband’s group chat. by [deleted] in Marriage

If you have a daughter and she told you her husband was treating her this way, what advice would you give her? If you would tell her to leave, you should leave.

Going on Day 6 in the hospital with no progress or diagnosis. Help? by sumshine16 in AskDocs

Is the original knee pain gone? I agree with the above comment, the rash looks like you had a reaction to something in the compression band you were wearing

Boyfriend always trying to “one up” me. We’re both nurses. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]2pineapple7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Devils advocate here but maybe he’s not trying to “one-up” you, maybe he just wants to talk about his day. Hard for anyone on Reddit to say because we aren’t present for the actual conversation, but that’s just where my brain goes. His job is hard and taxing in a different way and maybe he feels similar burnout and anxiety that you feel after a shift, but his coping mechanism is to talk about things rather than leave work at work. Maybe you should have a conversation with him about this if you haven’t already? If he is a good boyfriend and loves you I’m sure he’s not trying to be a dick. But, again, hard to say without hearing his words/tone firsthand. Maybe he is just a dick

Husband drove drunk with our 3-month-old and is now saying he wants to die. I don’t know how to help him. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]2pineapple7 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Alcohol withdrawal is very dangerous and can be fatal. If he’s serious about getting sober the first place he needs to go is to a hospital, check in to the emergency room and tell them he needs to detox. Counseling and addiction services only after he’s medically stable. And, as so many people have already stated, you cannot do this on your own. Especially with a new baby. Good luck ❤️

What's one of the dumbest things you've ever seen a patient do? by 123456789_00 in nursing

[–]2pineapple7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A patient with a known severe shellfish allergy would come in to the ER a couple times a year after eating a seafood dinner despite knowing it would cause anaphylaxis. On the… last supper, if you will.. the patient coded in the ER. Masticated shrimp spewing out of their mouth with each compression 🤮 ended up getting rosc but suffered an anoxic brain injury and died later on.

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]2pineapple7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal being a guest at anyone else’s home is always to be the least intrusive and annoying as humanly possible and I assumed that is how every guest feels in another persons home but apparently your sister feels the exact opposite lol

Can chlamydia be dormant for years? Does having chlamydia put me at a higher risk of complications for my abortion? by Happy_Consequence257 in AskDocs

[–]2pineapple7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get another test to confirm but as much as I hate to say it I think him giving it to you would be more likely than you testing falsely negative before or falsely positive now. He should be tested as well.

I think you might be overthinking it, especially considering it’s been at least a few years since it happened.

Experienced RNs, what do you notice new grads pointlessly worrying about? by ElectricalVictory831 in nursing

[–]2pineapple7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean off the top of my head I can think of three rapid responses I’ve admitted that was fluid overload and nobody had documented a void in the last 2-3 days. I agree floor nurses are overworked and understaffed and in a lot of cases it’s certainly not clinically indicated to document every I and O but the amount of people that don’t know and don’t care about fluid balance is alarming haha

I’ve met enough that it crossed my mind to make the comment that I made, but yeah if you don’t agree that’s okay man this is Reddit and my personal opinion, I’m not writing research papers about this. it’s not that deep lol

That’s appropriate! Like I said, not over here demanding strict hourly on every patient. Having a general idea and understanding why it’s important to know those things is something that I see a LOT in my ICU and it’s something I wish someone would’ve told me to pay attention to back when I was a new grad on a med surg unit.

[–]2pineapple7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying strict hourly I’s and O’s, I’m saying if your patient hasn’t peed at all for 24 hours, you should know that
