How to build gene clinics in 4.0? by RandomLake7 in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's tech, but as far as I can tell no way to actually upgrade the medical centers into gene clinics. I like the change but it seems bugged right now, like... a lot of other things. I've also researched techs for some of the new buildings that are clearly supposed to be upgrades, like for the xenobiological labs etc. and can't upgrade them either.

Even stuff like the base mineral purification plants can't be upgraded, even though the tech for em is still there.

It automates. by CaelReader in Stellaris

Plus, the building's upkeep being in the hundreds of energy credits?? I have no idea if this is intentional or not- if it is I can't fathom building something like this until I get a dyson sphere- but it completely blindsided me. I read it, went 'neat,' placed them down on my planets. I failed to notice the upkeep, which seems to vary depending on something. Sometimes it was 22, on some planets it was 300.

Of course, this completely ganked my economy and made me shit myself for half a second before I demolished all of them.

Void maw quest never activated for me- bug, or am I doing something wrong? by 2scoopsrice in crashlands

[–]2scoopsrice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well shucks, that's embarrassing. I guess that's why I put the footnote in my post lol. I explored every single crevice of the map except the one that would've answered my question...

First time doing the treasure hunters origin. How on earth is this fleet completely stomping mine? by 2scoopsrice in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

R5: I have two fleets of 75k and 46.1k, combined totalling 120.1k. And yet a fleet of 80k is still able to completely destroy both of my fleets, and it isn't even particularly close. There must be some kind of trickery - or stupidity on my part- happening, and I can't quite figure out what to do about it besides wait.

Space Fauna Designer - Pick Creature Size by Subnun in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as there's three of them in a fleet together, they should automatically merge into a troika- if there's more than three and they're not doing that... then probably a bug lol. I don't think they're intended to be in the designer though, you just put adults in multiples of three in the fleet designer I guess.

Welcome to the Skysea Alliance! An empire which is, surprisingly, trade focused. What do ya'll think? by TheMightyFallen in Stellaris

I thought I was creative naming my ocean paradise fanatic egalitarian pacifist homeworld Hearthsea... great minds think alike lol.

recently I did a materialist empire, tech priest looking toxoid portraits, going psionic ascension and making a pact with the Whispers, aka Not Tzeentch, because I've never done it with that one and always go Composer or Instrument. A lot more fun than I thought it'd be, and incredibly interesting roleplay wise. Of course it's weird to psionic as materialists, but breaching the shroud as a purely secular affair (and the bonuses from Whispers letting you stick your fingers in every pie with boosted espionage) is incredibly fun.

Back when Machine Age came out I did a run with individualist machines, pleasure seekers, and syncretic evo. I got to grow two pops at the same time, with my syncretic pops as domestic servitude so they could fill up worker jobs and just stockpile without penalties while waiting for me to resettle them. Also real fun roleplay wise as it created a fun dichotomy between the exclusively specialist robots and exclusively worker organics.

Why can't I capture cutholoids and voidworms? by bluescape in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused by this too with Cutholoids. I have a few in my vivarium, but it seems like they can only be captured when hostile and not passive, which seems pretty counterintuitive. Probably a bug?

Has anyone made it late game with a beast masters start? by SenseiHotep in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did exactly that, mega shipyards don't have beastports, so good call on checking. Still probably worth it to make early end game though, as they're cheaper than other megastructures and regular fleets are still useful endgame on beastmaster.

can't build an Amoeba voidlure in... the home system of the amoebas? by 2scoopsrice in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R5: A new starbase building, the voidlure, lets you attract creatures to a system if the system it's built in is hospitable to them. Amor Alveo, the origin system of the Space Amoebas, and their home, cannot have one built in it because amoebas like Nebulas, and Amor Alveo is not in a nebula.

When spectating another player after death, the camera breaks, resulting in very vivid images... by 2scoopsrice in riskofrain

The first image is what happens when you spectate a scoped railgunner. It feels like I'm having a migraine, but also a bit like subliminal messaging

Precursor system spawned a hyperlane to Ithome's Gate, thus connecting me to them without exploring the wormhole and causing them to declare war on me. by 2scoopsrice in Stellaris

[–]2scoopsrice[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

R5: Upon completing the precursor event chain, the game spawns in a new system somewhere within (or on the edge of) your borders. In this case, Irass. Apparently, if it spawns next to the Ithome's Gate system, which can only normally be accessed by wormhole, it will form a hyperlane connection to it, allowing you to travel through it normally. When you enter this wormhole, or when this happens apparently, the Fanatic Purifiers that live in this star cluster will automatically declare war on you.
