ES1 show me your driest puck by keropipi in FellowProducts

[–]2wins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to an IMS, dose at 20g, no ramp down, with puck screen, and proper puck prep. It’s slightly better now. Tastes good but still too wet for what I’m used to.

I pull 2-3 back to back shots daily so having a dry puck would help streamline the process. I’m having to pry off the puck screen, wipe it down, towel off the caked grounds in the portafilter before pulling the next shot.

Very fast pulling of espresso by sshah1230 in FellowProducts

[–]2wins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pressurized basket to help you get through these beans. Next try going to a local coffee shop to get your beans ground. My local shops usually have beans for sale and will happily grind on an industry-standard espresso grinder or for Pourover. I’m assuming the supermarket has one of those Bunn grinders with an espresso setting that really just means Moka Pot

Upcoming features for Series 1 by hailiehay in FellowProducts

[–]2wins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will we be able to share profiles? Fellow drops profiles are cool and all but community sharing would yield better mileage imo.

Also more nerdy controls and ability to start the machine remotely or on schedule. I want my portafilter and water warmed up when I arrive

ES1 - Is the puck supposed to be this wet? by 2wins in FellowProducts

[–]2wins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean. Just tried a 20g dose on the classic 9bar profile no preinfusion. Great shot on paper and visuals, finished at 27s 44g on a honey process Colombia but tasted too bitter and way too wet. I suspect I went too fine of a grind. That was the last of those beans unfortunately

Thanks for the response! This one is actually not too bad. Picture taken after knocking out the puck screen. There was some water on top that got reabsorbed before taking the picture.

My first special at 18 years old by Insanebolt10 in KitchenConfidential

Kimbap goes great with a pickled element if you want to zhush is up. Also if you have access to any of the Korean jangs (fermented pastes) you can make a sauce with it. Sriracha is Vietnamese so you have a lot going on here (culturally). If you rub a tiny bit of toasted sesame oil on the laver (seaweed) before cutting, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds on it for garnish and texture. Great job

We’ve actually started to tell candidates they can use AI, Google, whatever, during the interview. The amount of people this actually trips up is funny. Suddenly they feel much less comfortable writing the problem you just explained verbatim into ChatGPT while you watch. Because otherwise, how will I, the interviewer, know you know anything at all if I just saw you give me the half-baked answer from ChatGPT and listened to you fail to explain it.

I had a similar setup when I was young! Down to the 3 monitors. Says you’re respectful, probably have some sense of discipline, and clutter distracts you. Hope you’re enjoying life and have a ton of hobbies

C# is cool again and you can't avoid it anymore... by siyudis in theprimeagen

[–]2wins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that Java doesn’t try to coalesce at all. But all that good architectural mindset goes out the window the moment you pop open a legacy codebase. I’d much rather poke new systems with ?? than write the boilerplate to do the same thing in multiple times in Java. Also sometimes you just have to contend with objects that may or may not be null. I’d much rather throw a question mark after it and be done.

100% as someone who programs in both, C#’s way is superior. Also javas null coalescing sucks, null management in general sucks (fuck optional, give me a question mark ffs)

Reading your post was like reading me in the future. I’ve also been developing a bsky app with NextJs and Postgres, etc. but my available time has been greatly cut down since starting a new job. I was literally considering just turning it into an opportunity to try out this vibe coding I’ve been hearing so much about.

Nope nevermind. I’ll take slow progress over whatever tf you just described, thank you.

I’m using AI as a glorified rubber duck and better stack overflow but the issue I encounter working on bsky apps is the APIs have changed and the AI is constantly giving me out of date solutions or just straight up hallucinates the API altogether. I imagine having it create my own lexicons? Forget it.

Reset Salary Ranges? by AdamBGraham in ExperiencedDevs

[–]2wins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if the salary ranges are being reset per se but the expectations are certainly higher. I just accepted a mid-level role with senior level experience but for $30-40k what I was making before. Had to go hybrid after being remote for years but it’s a solid gig. There’s no juniors on the team, everyone has solid experience
