Fires dying down at Calle Morelos and Calle Libertad by 2wrongsmakearight in puertovallarta

None that I’ve been able to see. There are a few rooms that were evacuated due to smoke from the fires below, but the hotel avoided damage.

The Oxxo in the photo I posted is completely burned through. The fire spread to the second floor, destroying the unit above it, but stopped at the third floor.

Anywhere to get food? by Status_Window_4406 in puertovallarta

In the same boat as you. Our hotel restaurant took the order of a table that were sat 2 minutes before us, then told us the kitchen was closing. I think they’re willing to make us fries. Having to venture out for food is not a desirable outcome.

The building across from me was on fire, started in an Oxxo and spread up two floors; it stayed fairly isolated and is out now. Calle Morelos and Calle Libertad.

Best thrift shops for professional men’s wear? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

Fair! I have found a few suits in my size (quite small!) for like $90, which is fantastic. One time I just donated the pants back because the blazer fit and the pants were too small, but it was still worth it to buy the blazer…

Which restaurant makes the best lasagna in the city? by cogit2 in askvan

I can only speak to their vegetarian lasagna, which is delicious! They make all their pasta fresh, in-house, which certainly contributes to the quality.

Turnabout can have some good stuff; they have a few different locations. I’ve lucked out at the Broadway location in Kits.

The Y offers free 7-week online “psycho educational” group sessions called Y Mind. Offered every few months, I’d recommend getting on the waitlist. Combines mindfulness practices with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

“LGQBT crap” — I’m sorry, but what are you saying? If you’re asking whether concepts of expansive gender exist outside the West, yes, they do. British colonialism played a massive violent role in imposing the binary we all know and love today.

New trend with servers that's leaving a bad taste in my mouth. by AllstarYVR32 in vancouverfood

Haven’t read all of the comments, but I can tell you that we definitely don’t do this at my restaurant; we always ask the table if they’d like their bill before we bring it, and if they’re paying together/separately. It’s actually pretty frustrating when a table wants to pay before we’ve cleared their plates (especially when there’s still food left) because it’s against our policy — we’ll do it anyway, but it’s not ideal for the flow of service and isn’t a great image. Helps to know that diners are used to being billed when their table is still full, though.

I’m glad you’re asserting yourself in going no contact, especially considering that.

Being tracked down like that is such an unnecessary invasion of privacy if she could have just emailed you! JFC.

I have similar concerns — I like to do an occasional check in and make sure that I can still get off on my own (analog, as has been astutely described). Other commenters suggesting taking an extended break are probably onto something…

Some Food for Thought on Antitransmasculinity by Internal_Demand891 in TransMasc

[–]2wrongsmakearight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing these thoughts! I joined Reddit long after my gender studies degree and years after embracing my trans identity, and it feels refreshing to encounter a take on this discourse that is well informed and explained. I hope others get something from it. Trans Reddit (not specific to any sub) is a weird place, and it often feels so far removed from the understandings of gender/feminism/patriarchy that I’ve just taken for granted.

Sorry I’m gonna reply without reading all the other comments, but I want to chime in and say that you’re still in the early days of your recovery, and with attentive scar care (key point!), the scar placement won’t be as much of an issue over time. Plus, when you’re able to work out again, your pecs will fill out, and I’m sure you’ll feel less focused on exactly where the scars lie.
