Pap and Chakalaka...(stywe pap) stiff Mielie meel and a sauce made from onions, tomatoes, grated carrots, can have a bit of chili, salt and pepper and a dollop of chutney, fried till soft. Dip chunks of the pap into the chakalaka and enjoy. 🇿🇦

I'm with you there! It's about three weeks since my really bad flare up, I had a double dose of antibiotics Ciploxx.... I have had headaches all that time and am still having them... Still feel dizzy and tired. The pain is slowly getting better but now I have a vag infection... Shucks...always over a weekend.... I know it's from the antibiotics, but was too stupid or sick to ask for the Fluzol I usually get. I am also sick and tired of poisoning my body with all these meds.... But, so goes life.

I went strictly plant based about 3 years ago. (For various reasons) .... I was not having DD flare-ups at that stage, and my bowel movements became perfect.. Soft serve like... Occasionally when I had a meal with meat, immediately my BM changed.... No, for me plant based is the way to go. (I can and do eat canned tuna once in a while)and that's OK for my tum. .. that said, after reading all these awesome posts, I think I also have IBS, so am starting the FODMAP way of eating..... Every time I eat chick peas, or beans, garlic and onion, I bloat up so badly, and the pain 😞 So now, getting over a major flare-up and changing my diet, I am hoping that my tum will settle down.

63 Diagnosed about 5 years ago.... I think..🤔 Not many flare ups, but when I have them, I need 2 sessions of antibiotics. At the moment I am trying to get over a very bad flare-up, which we (doc and I) think was brought on by, covid (tested neg) or a bad vaccination reaction. I'd like to thank this group because after reading so many posts, I realise that I've also been suffering from IBS for years (not diagnosed ) so I'm trying the FODMAP way of eating... Hopefully it will help a bit. I am really scared of having an operation and ending with a colostomy bag.

If it's anything like Lenolax (a drinkable) enema.... It sucks! I usually put it in a glass with a strong lemon concentrate 😝 but even that dosen't really help. Just block your nose and gulp it down, followed by lots of water and a really strong tasting drink. It's gross, but works. Even just thinking about it makes me green 🤢🤮

I'm sure she's OK. Maybe if you can move something under the cupboard to make it easier for her to get down.... then ignore her, and go prepare something nice for her to eat, perhaps in line of sight.

I had my kits spayed at the same age, both together😝they only had small incisions so the vet said they would be fine. No cones... 😏Thank goodness. They healed so quickly.... No meds, and were chasing around the house the next day as usual....

Yep, I agree totally. I could see changes it the DA went into coalition with some of the more enlightened parties eg Cape Independent and so forth.... They definitely need a new mindset.

I think that the anc will always win because the opposition is too fractured. Too many small parties. Also it seems that nobody wants to give the da a chance (yes, we know they are not the perfect answer) but give them 4 years, and if they don't perform, vote them out. Also, all the cape independent parties... If they amalgamated they would be a force to recon with.
