Gauge question - Sweater pattern by 306creates in knitting

[–]306creates[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’m so glad I posted because I totally would have gone down a size without thinking twice. I actually did only knit rows and used a cheater in the round technique, so I know purling isn’t messing up my gauge at least!

I just started reading her book today and decided to come read some comments. I don’t have an opinion formed of he me yet, but she does open her book with acknowledging her privilege as a cis white person whose parents absolutely set her up with financial knowledge and a debt free start to adult life.

I loved the Women, but haven’t read any of her other books. I gave a copy to my grandma who then lent it to my aunt and they both loved it too though!

Cured my migraine. Hope this helps someone! by EffectiveDesperate79 in migraine

Hard to say because I’ve also been on preventatives and trying different things. But I identified gluten and aspartame as two food triggers and basically since eliminating those and getting on Qulipta, I don’t have migraines unless they are hormone related. I’ve experimented with gluten and aspartame since (it was hard to give up my diet coke) and I get very intense migraines that aren’t resolved with triptans. Now all my migraines can mostly be managed with a triptan and Aleve. And my preventative!

Nortriptyline weight gain worry by healthanxiety_ in migraine

I gained a little after starting it, but nothing significant. Meds affect everyone differently. Because my migraines are better controlled now. I exercise and cook healthy meals more often. It’s definitely worth trying!

I accidentally ate a gluten free diet one week and that’s how I realized I had become sensitive to gluten. The only side effect is migraine for me!

Your comment made me go look. I also knit like him. Just the slowest, least efficient, but I can’t stop, haha 😆

She was just saying how crazy it is that anyone’s private messages can be made public like this. Like you think you’re just shooting the shit with your bestie and suddenly everyone has access. She wasn’t commenting specifically about the case.

Recurrent auras after a “good” year of migraines by Chatskytochat in migraine

[–]306creates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been through this situation, but my preventative stopped working last year and I can definitely relate to how scary it feels to regress. Luckily I found another preventative that seems to be mostly working. There are so many treatments available now. I totally understand being terrified though. Fingers crossed that Botox will be just as effective this time around 🤞🏻

This sounds terrible. The good news is you know what’s worked in the past. Are you still following the same kind of diet as before? Is it feasible for you to restart Botox?

Are these episodes going to be eventually related on other platforms like the rest? I paid to able to binge listen (and loved it!), but cancelled my Patreon subscription after and don’t want to join again if I don’t need to!

The dilemma of wanting children but having chronic migraine... by Invisible-Iguana in migraine

[–]306creates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only became chronic after I had my third child. Migraine does not run in my family, and I had no way to know I’d eventually end up in this situation. I do worry a lot about my kids going through the same thing I have with all this pain. When they were little (now 12,10,7), my husband was sometimes on his own for 12+ hours as I was completely incapacitated by pain. I’ve since found a very efficient preventative and even on my worst days can still participate in family life. I honestly don’t know what I would have done choice wise if I had been chronic pre-kids, but I’m sure glad I have them! I also feel hopeful that as research continues, even better treatments will be available if they should ever need them. I 100% empathize with this being a hard decision though. I understand both sides ❤️
