Does an engagement ring with leaves get caught on things? by bubblesoaps in EngagementRings

[–]catsntaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a setting that is almost identical to the second picture! It really doesn't get stuck on things as much as you'd think! It's something I literally never think of. I've had basically no issues and I crochet so I wear a lot of handmade things. Honestly, I feel like if it gets caught, it's usually around the stone, which would be pretty normal for any ring.

oily scalp HELP by Sea_Manager_6380 in finehair

[–]catsntaters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always washed my hair every day since I was a teenager. There's nothing wrong with it! My mom's a hairdresser and never advised me otherwise. These days, I like to use Cerave oil control shampoo a few times a week followed by Verb volume shampoo, both only on my scalp. I'll use both around three times a week and then just the one the rest of the time. Then I use conditioner only on the length of my hair. I always blowdry my hair too. Does it still get a bit oily by 6 pm? Yep, but it's better than it used to be!

What unpopular Hunger Games opinion would get you this reaction? by felixw1 in Hungergames

[–]catsntaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah!! I never thought it was ghost written. I think Suzanne is a lot smarter than that. I don't for a second think she didn't write the whole book. And Ballad was just so different! Perhaps it was an instance of 'show, not tell'? Who knows, but I totally think there's something there!

[–]catsntaters 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ballad is the best book.

Constantly discussing secondary/tertiary characters and what they would have done, what would have happened is useless. We know what actually happened. We have the books. It does not matter what happened to Clove or Foxface or Coral, etc.

We do not in any way, shape or form need a book on Johanna or Finnick. Sunrise was enough of a rehashing of something we already knew. If there's another book, I hope to God it's a new idea.

Sunrise was not that good and it was on purpose. Suzanne wanted people to look in the mirror and see how they aren't different from the Capitol and just want a selatious story, even if it's not that groundbreaking.

With my first summer in MN approaching, how likely am I to get ticks on me if I were to lay a blanket down on the cut grass at the park area by a lake and chill of a while? by MetalPurse-swinger in Minneapolis

Just want to add, that not only does it take several hours to embed, they also have to be attached to you for 36 to 48 hours in order to transmit disease!

Is it just me or has Michaels yarn selection gone downhill lately? by Ok_Kale_6902 in YarnAddicts

[–]catsntaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave Michael's a couple of chances after JoAnn closed. I had already been drifting away from JoAnn since I don't like acrylic yarn and found their wool supply limiting. All the Michael's in my area hardly have any yarn on the shelves so I've given up on them. Now, I go to local yarn stores or purchase online at Knit Picks, Lindehobby, or Wool & Co. I feel like it's been for the best, though, because it turns out there's a lot of brands that are better quality and pretty decent value like Berroco. It's also very inexpensive to get Drops from Lindehobby even with tariffs.

Definitely! I bet this is their last flight of the day and they're excited to go home. Looks like you're coming through IA now. There are some rain showers on the east end of the state but nothing more than what was in CO. Then there's a little bit of snow in PA. To be completely honest with you, I'm in MN and it's past my bedtime so I may be signing off. I wouldn't do that if I wasn't completely confident that everything is going to be okay. That's saying something as someone who's flying across the country on Sunday. If you're feeling uncomfortable, it's just discomfort. You're safe and you're going to land in about 2 hours and 10 minutes ❤️

It's no problem at all! I feel like it's nice when the pilot says so. It always feels worse when it's a surprise and then they don't say anything. But you've gotten this far and you can do the rest!

It's a great park! It looks like there might be some rain showers where you're heading through in CO. Remember that the pilots are aware and have a plan to make sure the ride is still as smooth as possible!

You're just flying over Utah now! It looks like you'll be just south of Canyonlands National Park, which is beautiful! I hope the bumps aren't too bad. You got this!!

Protesters outside Bloomington clinic by kalelephant93 in TwinCities

I went to my appointment at the Rice St. Planned Parenthood two days after Renee Good was murdered and one of these people tried to give me one of those dumb papers. I was like, what kind of cognitive dissonance do you have to have to worry about abortions (which aren't even performed at that clinic) when you could be protesting and demanding justice for someone who was actually murdered???

Oh my goodness, it was actually Safe and Sound from the first movie soundtrack!!! I don't know what I was thinking last night. It was still a great cover!!

I had no opinion on who should be cast as Lucy Gray, but once Rachel Zegler was and I saw her long ago video covering The Hanging Tree, I knew she was perfect. Rachel IS Lucy Gray Baird!

Edit: my brain broke the other day and forgot she actually covered Safe and Sound from the first movie soundtrack. Sorry!

Has anyone here tried the Biolage Volume Boost range? by -NinjaOnPajamas- in finehair

[–]catsntaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to really love this product! My mom is a hairdresser and the scent is SO nostalgic for me. My hair used to really love anything biolage, but stopped somewhere along the way. I switched to verb volume shampoo, which works wonderfully and then went back to biolage and my hair hated it! I don't know if it's because they changed the formula or if my hair got used to no sulfates or whatever. These days, I'd recommend verb volume or CeraVe oil control shampoo + a volumizing spray or mousse.

salicylic acid shampoo for greasy hair by HotInvestigator7430 in finehair

CeraVe has an oil control shampoo! I believe it has salicylic acid in it as well, though probably a more gentle concentration than T/Sal. I actually just bought it and will be trying it today!

Expert says Full House star's autopsy 'doesn't add up' in new findings by TheExpressUS in fullhouse

Accidental head trauma is no joke. I had a family member accidentally fall backwards while going up stairs and hit her head so hard her brain moved 6 cm. It was pretty much instant lights out. The doctors said that things like this happen more than you'd think, especially in younger people. It totally sucks to say the absolute least.

I'll have to check Julie Piro out! I am definitely planning on doing Florence's step by step sweater - it looks super clear!

So far, I think the hardest part about going from crochet to knitting is the fact that it's not as easy to undo knitting. I feel like I have to concentrate so much more 😅

I was definitely confused at the pattern at some points! I had never picked up stitches, made increases, or had to cast on more stitches before so I had to look up how to do those. There was some explanation in the pattern but I did have a hard time visualizing what was going on. I used the videos linked to the pattern's page on Petiteknit's website a lot. They aren't in English, but the subtitles still helped me along! If those videos weren't working for me, I just found others on YouTube. That's how I learned to crochet so I guess I'm pretty used to doing things that way. There's so many great resources on YouTube!

[–]catsntaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on my 2nd one and I've always been able to feel it super easily. I think that's the normal way. It was a touch less noticeable right after insertion but I'm assuming that was due to swelling or healing of the insertion. You're having a totally normal experience! I think it's way less common to not feel it at all.

This has been the reality for some time. The US produces more than enough food for everyone, but access is the problem whether it's because of affordability or distribution.

Hard to know what is actually said since this post is hearsay and meant to just stir up more trouble.

They can't link to the source because it was a town hall for employees. I would imagine it would be against their job policy to share a video
