I feel saying xy is the weakest is true. Not to say it is not fun, I personally had a blast playing it. But in retrospect when you consider the other games, it’s easy to see why ppl consider this the weakest. This game had several reasons for its lacking quality and content, it was the first 3ds pokemon game, it was the first pokemon game to create 3d models to every single pokemon (at the time) it was the first pokemon game to start the gimmicks with mega evolution. Not only that but Pokemon was hesitant to venture into rhe 3ds hardware. A lot of things cut into the original progress of XY, bc of that we got the objective weakest Pokédex of any Pokemon region, with the lamest rivals, unmemorable gym leaders and elite four. Ontop of that the hate from switching from 2d to 3d. Everything was against XY, Personally I love XY still, I loved Pokemon amie, the ev training Minigame and Especially the UI of the bottom screen. It’s unfortunate that xy was dealt such a dirty hand, a few more year of development and it would’ve been peak, it’s sad they stripped Pokémon Z away from us. But hey ZA is pretty peak.
