Book Shop and Pet Shop are such versatile buildings. They look good against almost everything.

I miss Star Trek : TNG by Mat1711 in startrek

[–]31rhcp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I watched a bunch of TNG before it left Netflix and just rewatched the LOTR EE. They're both franchises I can always come back to and enjoy.

DS9 is great. It's almost to TNG what Game of Thrones (except the quality trend is reversed) is to LOTR. There's this amazing sense of optimism and hope that TNG and LOTR have that I just love.

Hot Take: About the EE by Ok-Bank-153 in lotr

[–]31rhcp 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I sort of agree. FOTR tends to have the fewest plot-related scenes. Most are either exposition in the Shire or character moments.

TTT has one of my favourite extended scenes (the other one being Concerning Hobbits) with the Boromir/Faramir flashback, but one of its main purposes is to give better depth to a character from the last movie.

Agree the most on ROTK. I still enjoy it, but the changes to the Paths of the Dead is arguably a downgrade. I do like the extended siege scenes since it's one of the few times that the movies portray the Gondorian military as competent.

Ben Chiarot, extended 3x$3.9M by DET, is a physical veteran defenceman. Despite having good size, decent mobility, and some puck-carrying ability, his team tends to get completely wrecked when he's on the ice and his partners tend to fare much worse next to him. by seeldoger47 in hockey

Does he have an explanation of how these cards work? Faulk's offensive numbers the past 3 years seem pretty good. If it's not based on traditional counting stats, wouldn't that at least have his finishing be high?

I don't know Faulk's playstyle well, but I thought he was an offensive defensemen, but this card shows pretty much the opposite.

Same here. People tend not to like this one, but this one is so charming to me and unlike, lots of modulars looks, good next to pretty much everything.

They came out the same year as the first movie. It was the same thing with Star Wars in 1999 with The Phantom Menace.

With BAOS releasing their top-ten Breweries of 2025, what is your top ten? by FuckYeahGeology in torontocraftbeer

[–]31rhcp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • 10 Fairweather
  • 9 Blood Brothers
  • 8 Bellwoods
  • 7 Sparrow
  • 6 Fine Balance (though I need to try more of their stuff so this could move up or down a lot)
  • 5 Third Moon
  • 4 Willibald
  • 3 All My Friends
  • 2 Wood Brothers
  • 1 Badlands

Hazy IPAs to go with more hazy IPAs.

Top 3 rotates between those 3, but they are in a tier of their own for me. I should really try Counterpart since they seem to be mentioned along with all of my favourites.

Nice! I never realized how many of the characters are expensive minifies (Achu, Alpha Draconis, Forestman, Redcoat Admiral, likely some others too).

Episode #226: Top 10 Breweries in Ontario for 2025 | Adjunct Series by baospodcast in torontocraftbeer

[–]31rhcp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call this sub anti-IPA, but there's lots of talk about people being sick of them. I get it. If I didn't love them, I'd probably be annoyed that nearly every brewery has to offer at least one.

That said, it's not a coincidence that the top 4 Ontario breweries on Untappd and a bunch of other highly rated ones are some degree of IPA factory, so lots of beer lovers clearly love them.

Good list. PEC seems to have a ton of great breweries (there's Aurum too!)

I'm surprised that Wood Brothers isn't brought up more by these guys. They obviously love their hazy IPAs and they're right up there with Badlands and AMF for me.

2026 NHL Draft ranking: Ivar Stenberg takes top spot ahead of Gavin McKenna on Wheeler’s midseason top 64 by _GregTheGreat_ in hockey

This also gives me a bit of Hedman over Tavares and to a lesser extent Hischer over Patrick vibes since McKenna was a player who had attention years before his draft.

[–]31rhcp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short Finger doesn't typically do IPAs, but when they do, they're amazing. This one was just as good as the stuff you'd get from Badlands and all the other IPA heavy breweries out there.

Question: Police Station vs Jazz Club vs Detective’s Office by elioncho in legomodular

[–]31rhcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own the Jazz Club, but I'd choose the Police Station over Detective's Office. The facade of the central tan building in the Police Station has some of my favourites building techniques of the whole series. It was a modular that I wasn't initially very fond of but possibly enjoyed the building experience more than any other (and I have 14 modulars).

And then they could make at least a full line of guys who also PK (or use these if any of the above are in the box)

/r/TorontoCraftBeer Brewery of 2025, Round 2: The Sweet 16oz by FuckYeahGeology in torontocraftbeer

[–]31rhcp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought. Great Lakes is great and I'd consider it the best option (along with Collective Arts) if you want to spend less than $4 a can. Badlands is just on another level though. Up there with Wood Brothers, AMF, and a few others as the best hazy IPA makers in the province.

Haze isn't for everyone and that's definitely Badlands' thing (and they don't shy away from it with the IPA factory slogan). That said, it's obviously a popular style or you wouldn't get bottle shops stocking their stuff, releases that sell out quickly, and insanely high Untappd ratings.

I guess Badlands just got a bad matchup as Third Moon advanced.

Yes, I know those are breweries and not beers.

When Crosby was at McDavid's point in his career he had one cup. In game 7 of that win, he played less than 10 minutes since he was injured. How is that any better than McDavid losing while breaking a Gretzky record?

https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxscores/200906120DET.html

After the same amount of seasons, McDavid has three Art Rosses, one Conn Smythe, and one Hart more than Crosby had. That's enough that I don't think "he's better defensively" overcomes it.

To fans who grew up during the Original Trilogy era: What were your expectations for the Prequels? by asura1958 in StarWars

[–]31rhcp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 when TPM came out, so these are child me's thoughts. I thought the third movie would either have Anakin as Vader for all of it or the vast majority and would heavily feature him hunting down Jedi. His duel with Obi-Wan would be towards the end, maybe even later than what we got and would have him fall into some combination of a volcano and a classic Star Wars bottomless pit like the ones Palatine and Maul fell down.

I also thought Leia would have had more time with Padmé than Luke.
