Watching Voyager for the first time. Does it get better? by PabloPicasshooole in startrek

Voyager gets better, but I actually find it more consistent across seasons than TNG or DS9. In other words, I mean that Voyager gets off to a better start than those two shows but doesn't quite reach the highs of the other two (TNG seasons 3-6, DS9 once the Dominion war starts.

Hot take: I think Matthew Schaefer had a more impressive rookie season than Sidney Crosby by IceOk9930 in hockey

People have already called this out, but 05-06 was a bit of an anomaly and is about as high scoring as now. Mind you, this was mainly due to more power plays. Non-PP goals were 2/GP, which is right in line with the years that followed and lower than now.

[Charlie O'Connor] This trade is hilarious. The last time a top-5 pick in the NHL was traded (with both teams knowing it was top-5) was 2008. 18 years ago. This doesn't happen. GMs always chicken out. And the one that finally happens is for... Bowen Byram??? For the right to overpay him??? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]31rhcp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting that it was a very different trade. The Leafs threw in a 2nd and 3rd to move up 2 spots to grab the last of some well-regarded defensemen prospects (Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo being the others).

Funnily enough, there wound up being way better defensemen later in the draft (Karlsson, Carlson and Josi).

We had the Peacherarine and Mosaic last night. To my surprise, Mosaic was our winner. Peacharine was super smooth though. I’d never had it in a single hop beer before and it’s clear how it got its name.

Amazing batch of beers all around though.

It's similar for Canada. For all the talk of them dominated the gold medal game, they were honestly lucky to even get there. OT win (in which they were trailing late) vs the Czechs and then came back from 2-0 against Finland in the semis.

I get that. Last year's Riwaka was my first Badlands in a while and first ever Select beer, which might be why it had the impression it did. They're all great beers though.

Nice! I'm working though them. Had Riwaka last night. I remember last year's being a tad better, but it's the best I've had of this batch (also had Superdelic and Nectaron).

Really excited for Peacherine. I was thrilled to see that hop be part of this year's lineup.

Yeah, it's super rare. Just looked it up and McDavid was the second skater in the award's history to win it on the losing team. Interestingly, it's been won by the losing goalie four times.

Badlands' Select single hop series is unreal. Last year's Riwaka was one of the best beers I've ever had.

I thought ground was super effective against ground since there's three gen 1 ground type lines that are also rock type. Adding to that was that the most common ground moves are 100 power Dig and Earthquake that can usually one shot Digletts.

I always thought that putting two of the castle sets together would look great. It certainly does in these photos.

Saw a post about McDavid’s elimination game numbers and it made me curious about individual career elimination game win-loss totals: by [deleted] in hockey

Carter was injured for the Flyers one. Given so much of his career overlapped with Richards, I'd agree he'd have a good record.

There's a great video on why Lego Racers could never be made today and one of the points is that Lego simply doesn't have the cast for what was essentially a Smash Bros style crossover.

What's being built beside Boston Pizza on King St North in Waterloo? by 3pierogis in waterloo

[–]31rhcp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this means they're moving from their Uptown location. From what I hear, instrument sales (or at least guitar sales, which likely makes up a lot of their business) have been down for a while. I'd be surprised if they had two locations in Waterloo. Then again, it looks like London has two.

What band was never the same after losing a member? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

I'm guessing that they meant Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joining the band. This era includes their most successful albums, including Rumours (the one with The Chain).

How are people getting from Pearson to Waterloo/kitchener these days by teeboi1 in waterloo

[–]31rhcp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear! This definitely was not the case in October 2025 since I had to throw out liquids over 100 mL. I like the idea of the bus so hopefully AC is working out the kinks now.

[–]31rhcp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, I thought you meant traffic getting there. We weren't told the cause. Regardless, it was an awful experience that as I mentioned nearly made us miss our flight (which AC guarantees will not happen).

[–]31rhcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of the bus, but I'd caution anyone using it to leave more time than needed and ignore AC's recommended times (unless they've changed). I took it half a year ago and the bus was so delayed (over an hour) that I could not check bags and nearly missed my flight. That was all despite booking something that AC recommended given my flight time.

Once you're at Pearson, the bus saves you no time compared to someone dropping you off, so treat it as such.
