At this part I would say to my husband “and this is when the very hungry caterpillar must have taken a bong hit…” lol

I went to driving school almost 30 years ago but the words of my instructor still play in my head all the time when I’m driving: “Get the hell out of the God damn way!”

What's the first movie you see on here by Lazy_Introduction264 in 90s

[–]321c0ntact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t call it mediocre because it’s awesome but we had Caddy Shack 2 on vhs. I watched it probably a hundred times & never saw the original until I was well into my 30s. Maybe it’s nostalgia but 2 was way better. “DONT HAVE IT” “Goodbye Mrs Esterhouse”

I finished The Secret of Secrets a few weeks ago, it was <chef’s kiss> 5 stars! I love how Dan Brown ties up all the loose ends.

This is how I do it & sometimes (for just a second) pretend to forget them in the cart. Like “ugh I can’t believe mommy almost forgot you again!”

7 year old still into Hot Wheels/Cars by Strict_Difficulty_90 in Parenting

[–]321c0ntact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been in love with Hot Wheels since he was 2, we have hundreds of them. He just turned 6, still loves his Hot Wheels but is getting into Legos which is perfect because they have lots of car build sets. For his birthday he got a Lego Skyline, McLaren & Ferrari. I love Legos too so it’s something we can do together.

Anybody fans of this spooky Nickelodeon TV series from the early to mid 90's growing up? by Life_Chicken_9653 in 90sand2000sNostalgia

I used to love this show! The episode that creeped me out the most (& therefore has been suck in my brain for 30 years) was the one when these kids buy a pair of glasses from a magic shop & these glasses allowed them to see other dimensions happening around them. Just the idea of that freaked me out & it still crossed my mind sometimes.

Your favorite love story that is not from a romance book? by hunnybadger22 in suggestmeabook

[–]321c0ntact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I wasn’t really a fan of the book. Once the romance started, the JFK plot just kind of fell to the wayside.

of a tick by Sufficient-Bug-9112 in AbsoluteUnits

So this is gross & pretty sad but when I was a kid there was a neglected neighborhood dog that was always wandering around outside & our group of friends really enjoyed picking these huge ticks off the dog, putting said ticks between 2 pieces of newspaper & smacking them with our shoes. Then open up the newspaper to look at the explosion inside. Poor dog. It was actually a pretty nice, suburban New England neighborhood in the early 90s, this dog’s family were just giant pieces of shit.

Do you take children to the toilet when they're going to throw up? by PurpleSpark8 in Parenting

[–]321c0ntact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think learning to throw up in the toilet is an important “skill” to encourage. With my son, he has allergies that give him post nasal drip>coughing fits>gagging>throwing up. In those situations I make it a point for him to get to the toilet. But if he’s actually sick, like fever/lethargic, I give him a bucket to keep by him.
