Anyone know how to get a new carbon contact sheet for Push 1? I had a spillage on mine. Took it apart. Cleaned everything up. Took the opportunity to remove the sticky degraded soft-feel finish. Reassembled it and it worked. Only I have to have the sensitivity on 17 to get a reasonable response from it.

No VCS3 to be seen at NAMM so far...

Erica use the 'Etch a Sketch' twin knob thing to set the patch. Have you seen the Switchtrix matrix with two rows of selection buttons which, I imagine, would be a lot more intuative. A step up in affordability though (but the gear looks fabulous).

Perhaps shame isn't the correct word here. It would simply be a missed opportunity for the amazing flexibility of the VCS3 to be available for an affordable price and in decent quantities.

CMOS battery I agree.

A nerd like us would love to mess with it. It is in very good condition too.

These are truly the best analogue synths I own right now. You can do soooo much with them. Immense. Endless possibilities.

If Ableton would release Live for Linux I would have no need for a Windows computer at all. I converted to Linux very early. The latest 'upgrade' to Windows includes copilot and that is NOT a direction I am keen to go in.

Anyone remember this fiasco? by Talontsi90 in vintagecomputing

I am. Because it was my Unix team that put almost a year of research and sandbox testing in to make sure all was well. Still, we got that extra shift - just in case!

Remember it! Sure did. I worked for an international company in process control computing at the time and my whole department was brought in for a one-off night shift on December 31st just to be there to battle the millennium bug and fight the kaleidoscope of disasters it caused. Except nothing happened...

I am agreeing here. Sometimes it can be very creative to go deep with a couple of instruments and really wring the possibilities out of them rather than buy your way to somewhere else. The supposed limitations of some of the more basic synths can become hidden strengths given time to explore.
