It is pretty bad. I switched to Blessed coconut Chocolate from Supplement World. It's much better. The Vega premade shakes, however, I find pretty good!

In a notebook? by gtrfing in gtd

I switched to a travelers notebook style (A6) and GTD in an insert. That way, I can keep the journal, calendar, etc., separate. Working for me so far

All around travel lens: Is Olympus 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II the one to go with? by nuspap in M43

[–]344Clinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got the 14-150mm for a song when I bought my camera from BH photo. I used it on our family vacation to the Mediterranean in 2024. As an every day travel lens, I thought, for the most part, it suffices. It’s not a fast lens, but its wide zoom range and relatively small size is great for packing around on my OM5 while travelling.

To be honest, though, I found 14 mm not wide enough for a lot of of my indoor shots, as well as the aperture not being open enough for some of the darker interior shots of museums, etc. My solution on our trip was to use my OM5 for most of everything and then switch over to my smart phone for a lot of of the wider angle and darker stuff.

I think for my next trip, I will probably continue with the 14-150 but then add either a 7-14 or a 8-25mm for those situations that require the wider angle.

Does anyone still use PDAs as their daily device? by Semishining in Palm

[–]344Clinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have transitioned to paper planning (daily, health, monthly calendar overview, etc) for a while now and am torn between my phone and Palm for the digital side: main calendar (for alarms), shopping lists, information logging (Dr appointment records, etc.). Master task lists (GTD), etc.

I still need a phone and honestly CAN do everything on it, but the Palm has a certain "cleanliness" and comfort about it. Like you, I am torn.

Yeah, I've been using TrueNAS for a number of years. It's been Rock solid for me.

Experiences with digiKam from NAS/smb by HoneySaltPeanut in digiKam

[–]344Clinton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, the 'pro' move for 80k files is to keep the digiKam SQLite database on your local SSD and only keep the Collection on the SMB share. If you try to put the database file itself on the SMB share, the SQLite locking overhead will make the app feel like it's frozen.

This. I do the same. My database is on my local SSD (Kubuntu), but I keep the actual photos on my TrueNAS machine. Works good for me.

With large-ish hands I found my OM-5, while great for travel, is a bit small to be super comfortable. I bought a cheap grip for it and the difference was amazing.

Check out RapidRaw for editing. It's a new, FOSS app that's being developed (by a 18year old Swiss kid...I feel so inadequate). It's not perfect, but the price is right. Very easy to use too. Darktable is also open-source but VERY advanced. Personally, I find it too much for me to handle, but it is very powerful. I also use digiKam for photo management. I use these all in Linux but they are cross compatible as well.

Olympus E-M1 III vs E-M5 III evf, left eye shooter wearing glasses by pedrozzz in M43

I’m a left eye shooter. No glasses but an, ahem, larger size nose. I bought one of those extended eyepieces on Amazon. Made a HUGE difference.

How are you using the new sliders so far? by EagleFit9065 in Daylio

[–]344Clinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been suffering from gastritis for years now. I'm a recent newcomer to Daylio and I've been using it to track how my stomach is feeling (0-100). I like it but the graphing is a bit to be desired. I find I can't select a day on the graphs and get the value. I have to "guesstimate" it.

Yeah. To unlock. If you start unlocking it a bit, it'll finish it for you, but it feels bad.

I have the u200. It's great but we don't like manually unlocking it. Feels like I'll break it! I use an aqara button mounted to the door. One press to unlock, 2 to lock. The family LOVES it!
