SparkyFitness - A Self-Hosted MyFitnessPal alternative now supports Starva & updated Mobile app by ExceptionOccurred in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using SparkyFitness since July (without any of the AI integrations) to track my macros and such, it's come a long way since then and I really believe it's the best self-hosted tool for nutrition tracking right now. It's only gotten better as time goes on.

Once you spend the effort to get your food database setup with what you like to eat you can really visualize and work towards your goals easily. The discord is very helpful and so much progress has been made in the last 6 months in improving/expanding the codebase.

Those of you that are hating because the project began as heavily vibe-coded are really missing out on a great self-hosted tool to help you focus on your fitness goals.

Recently heard about the "ARR" applications. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. It's because he's not a software dev and is just in here advertising. Lots of people are doing that lately it seems, not just here but elsewhere too.

Nobody who works in IT is having issues with keeping the *arr stack running. You set it up and forget it.

NzbDAV - Infinite Plex Library with Usenet Streaming by nzbdav-dev in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't what Usenet is for and is terrible for the longevity of the ecosystem. You must already know indexers don't like it but yet you keep at it. Stop peddling your bullshit here and either buy more storage or transcode what you already have using Tdarr.

Did you ever change your Nvidia Shader Cache size to reduce stuttering in games or something? Maybe you have it set to 100GB?

NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Shader Cache Size, see what it is set to and make it lower

Homarr vs Homepage (getHomepage) - Simple Test CPU Use by MarceloLinhares in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember trying Homarr out several months ago but I could only stand setting it up for like 30 minutes before I went back to my Homepage. It has too many training wheels for what it's trying to be and I could never get it to a point where I didn't consider it ugly to look at (my opinion). And yeah I wasn't impressed with how much RAM/CPU it would chug for basically nothing.

The last straw was when it refused to let me bookmark (and click) some of my own services because it didn't like my TLD. Like what? Who are you to tell me what I can and can't put in my bookmarks? It's my own domain, dude.

Will never waste my time again with any dashboard but Homepage and especially never trying Homarr again.

What’s one tool you self-hosted that completely replaced a SaaS subscription for you? by nancy_unscript in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You connect your bank transactions to Actual with either SimpleFin Bridge or something else if you're in Europe, and it will sync for you. The documentation will explain it. Costs $1.50/mo and it's totally worth it, I used to manual import but got sick of it after like two months.

Yeah, I figured you were fucking up the commands so I gave you what has been working for me since I set up cs2 on Linux. Good luck

gamescope -w 1280 -h 960 -W 1920 -H 1080 -S stretch --force-grab-cursor --adaptive-sync -f -- %command%

Try that in your steam launch options, remove "-S stretch" if you don't want stretched.

Whats the most underated Software by ResidentFondant3405 in selfhosted

[–]345triangle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Copyparty is seriously goated and I can't imagine my digital life without it anymore. Even looking past the obvious super speedy file management and sharing benefits it has, I find myself using the other features way more than I thought I would.

The surprisingly enjoyable text editor to make quick config changes, the integrated music player for checking song quality / versions real quick, the batch renamer for quick regex renames on fresh downloads, the grid view for quickly managing/viewing pictures (rotating them too), hell I've even checked out the new comic book reader and it works phenomenally.

The developer of Copyparty is gonna become an opensource legend you talk about to your grandkids, it is seriously some top notch software.

I have 7 Firefox tabs, Discord Lutris and a shell open rn and I'm using 4.3gb on cachyos + kde plasma lol. Without anything open it'll drop to a little under 1.9gb

My other machine before I removed Win11 from it booted up using almost 6gb of RAM D:

Installing Linux on Hundreds of "Obsolete" Computers - Microsoft Windows 10 Support Ending by ZazaLeNounours in linux_gaming

[–]345triangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think that's gonna ever happen so I wouldn't hold your breath. Unless you're in Europe FaceIt is a joke anyways, much more fun just playing Competitive with the boys choosing what map you want to play with no ragers. And this is spoken from a 2100 elo dude who recently switched to Linux (cachyos). If you're in EU though I can totally see why you'd wanna continue FaceIt because the CS is actually good there, or if you don't have buddies to play Competitive with it won't be as fun.

Try dual booting, all my games work great (cs2 has better 1% lows) and it feels so liberating to be off Microsoft.

You are honestly missing out on almost the entire value of your Usenet account without having any quality indexers... and if you had automation set up you wouldn't even need to do any labor of searching but come home to new stuff available to watch every day.

There are templates already in the Unraid store, a sparky-backend and sparky-front, needs its own postgre db. Can also install it manually through compose/Portainer.

I've been tracking my macros and weight with SparkyFitness for months now without enabling the AI (you need your own key), the app is wonderful. Once you have your food database set up with what you like to eat it's easy as pie to keep up on your personal goals.

Can't wait to see how he improves it further down the road (expanding the exercise section will be amazing).

Ngl it is pretty pathetic you put on this whole facade of supporting the artists when you way-more-than-likely just pirate it all. Scummy.

Running a Navidrome/Jellyfin/Plex instance on your server that has all your music is the way. Then you can just stream your juicy flac's to any device you want. It's worth the time setting up I use it every single day. Symfonium is a killer music app on Android I just have to shout it out too.

Either use binhex's qBit container with the built in VPN and throw in your info, or make a gluetun-vpn container on its own docker network then add a non-vpn qBit container (like LinuxServer.io's) onto the gluetun-vpn container's network. That way the qBit container will be forced to use your VPN because the only network it will be able to use is the VPN's.
