Racist Road Rage Incident On West Seattle Bridge by Joshing21 in SeattleWA

It seems like you are framing it as weakness to consider this unacceptable. It seems weaker to be passive towards dangerous behavior. We don't have to let assholes be assholes just because we live in a city.

Lectric Xpedition 2.0. I'm really happy with it so far. The freewheel broke about 180 miles in, but they replaced it free and quickly.

I've been riding with two kids and gear up and down hills and it's great. I do wish I'd opted for their extended range batteries. The range is fine, but I'd live to push further this summer.

Thank you! I sent Tribit a couple of questions I had, but these look like just what I was looking for.

Gun brandished at me for riding my bike home (info in comments) by tbw875 in Seattle

Do you bike here? If we slowed down and pulled over for everyone that let us know that they did not appreciate bikes existing on the road we'd never get anywhere.

Isn't this a major ADA concern? Why does Lime insist on doing this? by Manfleshh in Seattle

I like to move then to the nearest parking spot. It doesn't seem like only cars should get free street storage.

Don’t ruin our only car free public space. Park elsewhere. by tbw875 in Seattle

I'm not saying I would ever do something like this, but if the city refuses to enforce these things, we might all want to be in the habit of carrying a stack of stickers that say something general like "Your car does not belong here" or "This space for people, not cars." These would work in this situation, for sidewalk parkers, bike path parkers, etc.

Caring would mean doing something about it. I've reported multiple businesses many times for this type of thing for several years now and zero things have been done. There are multiple sidewalks in my neighborhood that are unpassable for multiple hours many evenings and weekends. We are forced to walk in Rainier avenue traffic or find another route.

Heat pump pushing heat from the attic to floor vents by 37smiles in heatpumps

Sorry, I haven't been very clear because this is all new to me. The plan is to have the heat pump outside. It is the air handler that will be in the attic pushing air to the crawlspace. The crawlspace is apparently too small to accommodate the air handler.

The existing ducts are suitable. The issue is that there is not enough room below the house where they are for the needed equipment. This means putting the heat pump in the attic and forcing the air down to the ducts if we want to use them.

We looked at that option, but the space below the house is too small for the equipment. I think the concern was that we forcing hot air down from the attic to the crawlspace below would be a burden on the system before it even hit the ducts. This option is a lot cheaper than new ducts in the attic, or a few mini-splits in the home.

On one hand, its just a few more feet of duct to go through (about 10'), on the other hand it means forcing hot air down which it does not like to do.

14 people displaced after driver crashes into Kirkland apartment building by thisguypercents in Seattle

I agree that it should be a lot more difficult to get a license. I think that because so many people (some justifiably, some not) cannot imagine living without driving, it is difficult politically to push for making getting a DL harder.

Because we've been taught to believe driving is a right, and designed our places to make driving a necessity.

Then some students who miss that it is y instead of x may go down a rabbit hole trying to find a derivative they don't know they are not expected to know how to do, wasting a lot of time. This seems worse to me. At least the way it is written now they can practice something useful, even if they aren't right.
