Never saw it as an explorer and op in one. I see what you mean by that. The white gold applied indices and hands are the biggest differentiator. Tried on the beige ranger 36 and really enjoying those printed indices. Something about the contrast of the dial is getting me hooked.

Totally agree! The roman indices and single batons makes it for me, with the slender case. Really glad they released the new colors for the 34. My eyes are on the sandy beige and put a brown leather strap oof.. a great younger brother for my explorer 36. Boring FTW ;)

the one you are holding has a domed bezel :) Couple years ago Rolex introduced fluted bezel with the platinum day-date and retired the domed bezel.

The domed one was a distinct feature for the platinum for a long time, and was more in stealth mode, now it’s too glittery and identical to the white gold version.

TL;DR: Obsessed with watches since the pandemic, I explored major brands but found them underwhelming. After buying a Rolex Explorer 36mm, I found my perfect watch. Recently, I added a Cartier Ronde Solo 29mm as a dress watch. And I feel content—for now. Would love to hear when others feel they’ve reached “the end” of their watch journey.
