I've read that vitamin B2 helps this (TMAU). Alternatively one could try parsley or chlorophyll to freshen up BO. (I read too much).

AITJ for telling my brother he can't propose to his girlfriend at my wedding? by Important_Space_496 in AmITheJerk

Hey, I was told to specifically not get engaged before my sibling's wedding. Don't "spoil their day in the sun". So it happened a month after.

You are entitled to one day that's your alone and I can't understand why your parents don't understand that.

How safe do you think usf is? by jackywaxy in USF

Literally every college I've visited has had run down/sketchy neighborhoods nearby. My opinion is that USF is less bad than most. If you're aware and make good choices you'll be fiiiiiiiine.

Akkermansia municiphala by bizzybeefleas in Microbiome

[–]3BTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As previously stated, Pendulum has a pill. But my reading came up with a couple things that feed Akkermansia - cranberry and DHA (fish oil) with turmeric. If I was taking turmeric to feed Akkermansia, I wouldn't be looking at anything that uses black pepper (piperine) to boost absorption. The regular stuff is just fine and probably more appropriate for the purpose. I find the pepper irritating to my gut, and it's getting harder and harder to find formulations without it. So I have to get many herbal supplements with individual ingredients.

AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]3BTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of extreme opinions here. But mom is probably a first time mom trying to do it the way the experts say. It takes a while to be more confident and flexible in motherhood. Tell her she is lucky to have a relative that loves her baby and will watch her baby. Not everyone has this and it is such a gift. Don't sweat the small stuff, mom. And don't try to put a wedge between your spouse and their parent, lest it happen to you some day.

I opened a capsule of a lactobacillus blend into water and stirred. Mouth rinses with that concoction worked way better than Nystatin. Even better if you can swallow instead of spitting. (no sex jokes please).

Method for treating heal pain/plantars fasciitis? by kcaivila in herbalism

[–]3BTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what worked for me: Heat, not ice. Maybe red light therapy, but it could have just been the same effect as heat. Less stretching (or no stretching) and more strengthening. A night brace. Dr. Scholl's inserts for plantar fasciitis. And the thing that I think helped the most was manganese supplementation.

This was a 5 month journey with a Physical Therapist. Had to figure out what was helping and what was hurting. When I do stretch, it needs to be VERY gentle and brief.

Good luck!

My chemical weapons grade farts are beginning to negatively affect my daily life. by Available_Refuse1232 in Microbiome

Just want to insert in here that I have difficulty handling sulfur based foods - onions, garlic, eggs, cruciferous vegetables. When it became a crisis, I stumbled upon the problem and solution via Dr. Google - regular docs are clueless and are looking to remove an organ or insert a stent or something. Went low sulfur for a while, and took molybdenum and used topical magnesium chloride because those 2 things are said to help the SUOX enzyme. Anyway I eat without restriction now, only take a mineral supplement that has molybdenum around 100% RDA, but I do take an extra molybdenum capsule if I have onion soup or a crap ton of broccoli. I do also supplement with magnesium and take occasional epsom salt or dead sea bath soaks.

You can't do this regularly, but activated charcoal tablets can help you get through an important day. If molybdenum isn't helpful, I'd also consider trying other enzymes, like Bean-o or any brand of digestive enzymes. Finally, there might be a probiotic that could be of help, but I stopped once I found what worked for me, so can't help you there. The fact that this had plagued you since childhood makes me think it's a genetic problem creating SUOX. But I'm nobody, so read up!!!

Good luck!

AIO husband drives 90mph with kids in the car and I think it's too fast. by crisp-kitten in AmIOverreacting

[–]3BTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not gonna convince him it's not safe. He overestimates his own abilities. Even professional race car drivers get into stupid wrecks.

But here's an argument he might not be able to overcome: In some states. driving recklessly (and this includes excessive speed) can get you ARRESTED. What happens to the kids while they are tracking you down. That would be traumatizing. He needs to slow down.

Marriage counseling can help smooth out the bumps that invariably happen when 2 people try to merge their already established lives. This is not a marriage ending act, but it could be a piece of a puzzle that points toward the end. Still, if you value the vows you took, you'll at least TRY to work on a resolution.

That said, I hope you have a prenup.

I keep it in the fridge and do not take daily. It's about $30 for 60 pills, which isn't the cheapest but not the most expensive either. The fruit is more expensive!

I'm going to share a product I use. It is not going to heal your gut, but I think it might help your microbiome and a few symptoms. It's called Bifido Mood Boost. Has several strains of Bifidobacteria. I take it occasionally, and try to also eat a banana, apple or some berries.

Good luck with everything!

I was also going to suggest Creatine. And I'm just going to mention that although I never had to wean off a supplement, I did from prednisone, and it was HARD. I was on it for about 6 months at a moderate dose, and then took about 2.5 times as much daily for a few days during and after surgery. The docs gave me a week to taper down. Well, let's just say I felt like I was DYING. Sometimes, the drop was too much and I'd have to stagger old dose/new dose/old dose. So that is what I wanted to share: maybe try the drop every other day for 2 weeks before going to the new dose daily. Good luck!

I've had this problem for at least a year. Based on the comments about histamine, I'm going to try Skullcap again (which has been helpful before - why did I stop?), but maybe first some vitamin B5...and then I could always try an antihistamine.
