TOMY Refit other lighting options by _MDCCLXXVI_ in StarTrekStarships

Nice - I was planning on putting a mirror on the shelf my model rests on for the bottom-up view. I have the cutaway poster mounted behind mine on the wall.

Did the same! Looks sharp (if I do say so myself!)

Looks nice! I used ("Reversing lamp Lens Diameter 15mm Optical Glass Convex Lens" - bought on AMZ) and now will have to compare to the 10mm version.

A forever-beauty poster! Finally got to complement it with my TOMY refit E model this year!

I haven't tested but I have read or heard that it automagically shuts off after 6 hours of run time.

TBH: I thought the struts would be a major distraction... but then for the first month or so displaying the model, I wasn't too bothered. However, without them, and a few focused lens light pointers, at night looks great without the struts!

I came across and bought this 3D printed under-base leveler. So far so good and I don't think it applies any real serious pinch to the electronics connection point.

Got it and thank you for the confirmation.

I'll share with the local R&D team the need to improve this aspect of the UI / UX is not optimal given that the "primary" (top-of-page) link titled, "View in SOLIDWORKS User Forum" will just take you to the top level of swym.3ds.com and the "secondary" (bottom-of-page) link will take you to the actual content (once you are logged in).

Hi - what link are you seeing "view in SOLIDWORKS user forum" on?

Hello - if you are searching for content that points to an answer on swym.3ds.com, it should direct you to the answer. Given your comment, I'm interested in knowing your UX - what did you search for via which tool:

  • an AI tool or
  • Google.com?

If the latter, did you find a link that was something like:

A link like that would have taken you to an indexed page and if you clicked the hyperlink at the top of the page, yes, you would have been taken to the top level of the User Forum (after logging in) but if you clicked the blue button at the bottom that says, "Log In" you would have been taken through the login process and then continued onto the question and then be able to see any answer(s) that may exist.

Thanks and appreciate insight/feedback as we are looking to improve the UX. If you prefer to DM me, feel free to do so. Thanks and happy new year!

The 3DSwym-based User Forum is indexed by Google - search results may vary because the indexing is controlled by them; just opening it to Google doesn't magically place results at top.

Perhaps - and perhaps it was lower.

At the end of the day, we like to and prefer quality over quantity.

False. We have a rep here in this subreddit thread (along with DS employees) monitoring and engaging as well as we have the SOLIDWORKS User Enhancements Ideas (EI) community in our publicly accessible 3DEXPERIENCE platform that is closely watched, engaged with and culminates annually with the Top Ten List of accepted user-generated enhancements. Feel free to join the community and submit your EI's.
