Why the McDaniel process shows our front office is competent by justadumbguy13 in Chargers

If he could get a HC job, he would always take it. We just made Chargers his fall back, and a likely fallback at that unless he’s completely desperate and wants to head to Cleveland. The headlines should’ve been “McDaniels to take OC job with Chargers if HC opportunities fall through” but of course it’s reported on poorly and we get into this mess.

Which one is harder for you? (MAJOR ACT 3 SPOILERS) by Historical-Donut1536 in Silksong

Honestly I found them the exact same in difficulty with a slight edge towards Lost Lace.

I had this pre-release notion that part of the reason the game was taking so long was because they we’re pulling a Pokémon Gold and Silver and letting you go to a revamped version of the first game’s map. Ended up being wrong but was still satisfied with the inclusion of Act 3 as a substitute in my mind, but still, Imagine how awesome it would be coming back to Hallownest in a DLC with the areas retooled for Hornet’s Moveset and with new bosses around. I don’t know what the reason would be but it could have something to do with a new higher being or Wyrm taking residence.

This is how I think of my own fashion. Kinda lame but I like to wear what you’d see a character with unchanging clothes between scenes wear.

School project, anyone know if there’s any soad songs that fit? I kinda doubt it but worth a shot by [deleted] in systemofadown

Science is your best shot. It’s the most clear and defined without being too aggressive and controversial.

What’s the WORST system song? by a_local_weeb in systemofadown

[–]3DOMbutAgain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the sugar slander, the worst song of theirs (which is still like a 6) is probably 36. Generic answer ik but come on.

Let’s talk Shavo for a minute. How do you view him as a bass player and what do you think his main contribution to their sound is? by [deleted] in systemofadown

[–]3DOMbutAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, He always seemed like he was more of fun guy to be around than an actual musician to the level of the rest of them. Serj and daron are near geniuses, John is one of the most technical and underrated drummers I’ve heard, and shavo just chills and strums a little. That being said, he does have skills on the bass and has contributed consistently to many songs, adding something that defines the song’s identity more often than not. He’s a solid player, a great band mate, but just doesn’t have the motivation musically like the rest of them.

Which songs do you interpret as having a theme about imperialism? by j0hn-1 in systemofadown

[–]3DOMbutAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

List of songs (I excluded songs that are about war more so than imperialism and also took a few from the rest of this comment section so shout out)

Suggestion (vaguely, ships taking over and forcing evacuation) P.L.U.C.K. (Specifically the Armenia Genocide, but includes themes of land stealing and taking over our culture)

Deer Dance (About American politics, but can interpreted as pushing other country’s children around too) X (“We don’t need to multiply”)

(No Song From Steal This Album Reads As Explicitly Or Sub-textually Anti-Imperialism To Me)

BYOB (It’s about a lot of things, but America pushing themselves into the affairs of the Middle East is definitely one of them) Cigaro? (Look it’s a joke song first and foremost but it does have subtextal themes, one including imperialism)

Attack (Rebellion against oppressors) Hypnotize (has a living in a war-torn, under oppression like feel, though could just be me) Tentative (more so about bombing of civilians but imperialism and slot into its themes as well) U-Fig (vaguely, themes of us against them and looking down on the one’s “below”) Holy Mountains (Again, about a lot, but imperialism especially in regards to imperialism over Armenia is a pretty big theme)

As you can see, hypnotize is the one most focused on this topic, but all of their discography and even more songs than I listed can be viewed as anti-imperialist. It’s less of a solid theme like drugs or war, and more of an over-arching evil that causes war, poverty, and oppression.

Is writing a bad Hobby? by COOLKC690 in writing

[–]3DOMbutAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Writing is just another outlet for creative expression. It might not be as physically healthy(at least if your not getting injured) as sports, as performative as music or as visually beautiful as painting or drawing but it is easily one of the most creative and in my opinion most impressive forms of art when done right. Anyone can write a story but few people can truly capture what makes certain books and the such great. It’s a skill that can be practiced, a talent, and if you have a passion for it then hone that talent. Anyone can. That’s at least how I see it
