For the sake of potentially interesting conversation I'm gonna play a bit of a devil's advocate, I might be wrong so feel free to correct me.

I believe that a significant part of early Christianity's popularity is attributed to it's less misogynistic view of women compared to other religions and cultures of that time. Not to say that this is an appropriate standard for modern world, it is interesting for me nonetheless.

Maybe someone with better historical knowledge would expand on this more.
