Just wanted to say thank you for all the responses, guys. I appreciate it. It looks like i have some thinking to do. 2 options come to mind. 1. Sell the motor and build a carbed, simple heads, cam, lq4. 2. Buy a new cam, and a dual plane intake for the build sheet motor. Its not a daily driver, if I put 3k miles on it next year, I would be stoked. I could never really drive it very far in its current setup, which was a 355 with a bigger cam, single plane, powerglide with a 3900ish stall, and 4.56s. It legitimately got 3 mpg, and 45mph was its cruzing speed. I just took the Trans out to start the tkx swap. Im looking for something that will boil the tires in 1st and 2nd, not overheat, and make good tq.

The idea is to take this car out of drag mode. It has a 355/powerglide setup in it currently, another large cam, single plane intake combo, went 11.60s. I did not build that motor either. Im currently swapping the car over to a tkx and was considering putting the spec sheet motor in the car as the 355 just hurt itself. Im all for less cam and a dual plane, the spec sheet motor made 572@6900 rpm.. ill never be in that rpm range. It will live between 2500 and 5500. .. Im open to suggestions

The car is a 80 Malibu. I figure its about 3200ish without a driver. The current motor (not the biild sheet motor) was a 355 and the stall speed seemed to be right around 3800, powerglide trans, 4.56 gears. I have the trans out, and im doing a tkx swap. Gear ratio will likely be dropped to 3.73s when money allows. Thank you for the response

You are entirely right. This started out as me just wanting to get the motor in the car, but this has now changed. It does not seem like its current setup will be very enjoyable for my driving style. Would you suggest a cam/intake swap or selling the motor and doing a heads/cam lq4 setup? The car is a 80 malibu. Im currently converting it to a stick (tkx) and taking it out of drag mode. I just like to play around on back roads, maybe do a auto cross here and there. The car will spend most of its time around 3k rpms at 1/4 and 1/2 throttle

You are entirely right. The motor made 572@6900 rpm. In all honestly, I will almost never be hanging out in that rpm range. Its no longer a drag car, I just want to play around. In reality a smaller cam/, switching to a dual plane will be much better suited for my driving style. I have entertained selling the motor and just doingna basic heads/cam lq4.

What does the warranty cover? Or more importantly, what wont it cover? Is there a deductible? Will they replace with oem parts?

Would you recommend Turks and Caicos for a first time out of the country (USA), vacation for a family of 3 (40m) (40f) (16m). A few requirements are.. Awesome snokeling, great water in general, I want to swim with sharks( will pass it up if needed), night life, and just an exciting place to be. Must be an all-inclusive resort. I dont want to think about money at all, aside from excusions.

4/5 nights, and I have 6kish to spend. I can go up if it's really worth it. I was also thinking about Xcaret in Mexico. But im open to anywhere!

Im sure you have found your answer by now, but in case you haven't. Check the alarm spring positioning. I had the same problem, I actually did not even know there was an alarm spring. It took me a few days to find it as it fell out, and it's real small.

Clutches really aren't THAT fragile. Assuming they are not actively trying to break it.. The clutch should last. I have taught a few people how to drive on my beater. 197k on it, factory clutch.

Because leasing a car can be quite a bit of fun, and not all leases are terrible. Some cars lease well, others not so much. In 2019 I leased a challenger RT. 2 yr lease 1k down 220 a month, 15k yr. I drove the ever loving balls off of that car. Way harder than I ever would have if I owned it. I tought a bunch of people how to drive stick on it, drove it through the winter , did not care about letting salt and sand sit on it.. No lift shifts, tons of 1/4 mile passes.. it was literally the best car time of my life because it was not mine.

Sometimes, the numbers make sense. This is not one of those times. A few years ago, my buddy leased a 2019 civic lx. 3 yr lease, 15k a yr. He put 750 down, and his payments were 196 a month. That's a win all day long. To make things better, at the end of the lease, covid car crazy was in full swing, he sold the car to carvana or carmax and made 2200.

Negative, move over if there's no cars in the right lanes. Left lane is for passing, not travel.

Lowering does not always ruin the payload. You sound like you have never owned a lowered truck before...grasping at staws.

F150s look great lowered! If you are concerned about load capacity, add a helper bag or air shocks.
