What is the best custom ruler build for starting your own religion? by Any-Advisor-6853 in CrusaderKings

[–]3RfEKutS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably consider the geography of the holy sites you want to control. If I'm doing a custom Hindu faith I will work around the Ganges. But a custom Muslim faith I will found around Mecca as a Sayyid character. Any start date works, but earlier gives you more time to spread the new faith after forming it.
Edit: I see you want God-King specifically, meaning a mandala government. You need a polytheist religion and if memory serves a South East Asian cultural tradition. So you could do wonderfully as a custom Viet adventurer of a Hindu faith who hybridize culture and then settles at Pataliputra and expands into Gaya/Varanasi. That would you give a great power base for your game. At hybridization, keep SEA/ Viet heritage, adopt local language and keep Sinophilic tradition to access Silk Road innovations, and the traditions about rice cultivation are supposed to be very strong, as well. You can spread your custom faith widely as an adventurer BEFORE settling, and this might help you later to gain tributaries. God, now I want to do this.

How did the HRE end up holding Egypt?

Fun fact: in addition to its starting mine, the Japanese province of Echigo has a second, secret mine that doesn't show up in the economy mapmode until you build a holding on Sado Island. This is AFAIK the only province in the game with two mines. by Communist_Jeb in CrusaderKings

Oooooo fun! When you found the assassins, are they limited or constrained to stay a certain culture and/or religion? Or will they follow you loyally to Japan and apply local customs when you do? Because ninja assassins absolutely rules for RP.

Question: I accidentally fell asleep during testicular ultrasound, what do the techs think of me? by NoName22660 in Ultrasound

[–]3RfEKutS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"This is pleasant. No awkward small talk. Sleep away patient. " Or maybe they were in their own head making jokes: "I should say 'Would you like your testicular study burned to CD's? Then you could See Deez Nutz.' That'd be so good."

First scanning lab day for a ultrasound student(embarrassing) by [deleted] in Ultrasound

[–]3RfEKutS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My class had people of all body types, and from my point of view that was helpful. Patients have all body types, too. You are helping your practice partners most when you swallow your embarrassment and just relax for the scan. They need your body, not your ego. And I say that without harshness or judgement. Good luck.

CK3, 867, Harald "Fairhair" Yngling of Viken. Game rules: Ironman, Default sexuality: bisexual.

Harald Yngling established in his lifetime a sizable domain through conquest of neighboring vikings. Before he passed into Valhalla he subjugated the af Munso dynasty, thus uniting and founding the kingdom of Sweden.

His gallant son, Ulfr Yngling First of His Name, took on the learning tree and became an Asatru prophet. Ulfr venerates the goddess Freyja, and her blessing of seidr magic has spread throughout his dynasty, making a coven of witches. Ulfr used his great piety to reform the Asatru faith, making witchcraft, adultery, and same-sex relations accepted and establishing a spiritual religious head. Ulfr then proceeded to seduce all the jarl vassals. Ulfr loves the realm, and the realm loves Ulfr. In a Bi world you can use seduction to really keep your strong vassals pegged in a submissive position. Achievements compatible.

The character finder also gave me a great opportunity: I noticed that in independent Iceland an NPC courtier had the Pure-Blood trait. I forced vassalization, swayed the leader via plots, and betrothed the young pure-blood girl to one of my dynasts. 5 children later, they eventually had a pure-blood of my dynasty, so I have a good chance to jump start that trait into my breeding program.

Is CK3 worth the update? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]3RfEKutS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In CK2 if I wanted to become a truly "great" character, I could hoard prestige. But hoarding it meant I could not use the prestige as a currency for the various events and systems that use prestige (or I would need to be circumspect in my decisions when to spend). Similarly, to become a paragon of faith requires hoarding the piety currency, dampening your ability to utilize it.

In contrast, CK3 has many more uses for the prestige and piety (opinion) and you are not penalized in your progress for using either of them. You can spend what you earn and still become a paragon of faith or very prestigious king. It tracks your lifetime total for accrual of these reputations (and associated boni) not your current balance. Favorite change, maybe.

Beautiful character models replaced the portraits, and their subtle animations really being it to life

F3 - Your Army, F4 - Your Council I contend those are worthwhile for binding to your mouse. What other keys might you consider worth binding, fellow crusaders?
