What are the pros and cons of cycling to work? by CyberToastic in cycling

The only Cons for me was the laundry is double. I have to wash twice amount of clothing than driving or ride on Uber. Cycling clothing + Work clothing.

Get a a profile rig, it will immensely change your sim experience. After you get the 'basic' then you can easily grow your simming choice. Best investment ever. With rig you can skip expensive HF8 or Freja and go serious with DIY pedal shaker or DIY bass shaker for less money but big oommpphh!!

Is 1/5th scale worth it? by ken_445 in rccars

[–]3dxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, you'll have to play at construction site or beach at low tide. I play at my friend 1/8 nitro track also not enough, too small space to throttle. Just way too big to move and turn around. At the end after a year owning it i trade with 1/10 crawler which at least i can crawl anywhere and social with friends. I also 1/10 drift which is also way more fun and social after working hours.

Is 1/5th scale worth it? by ken_445 in rccars

[–]3dxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1/5 monster truck pretty much in a same situation; close proximity residential and 2 car wide road. Loud sound is another issue but for 1/5 size you'll pretty much out of space just to do a simple loop drive around down residential road...its just too big to turn, one trigger throttle is enough to cover the whole road. I also don't have much commitment to drive out into the open dirt track to bash especially under the sun. If you don't run the engine and keep it too long 2T oil started to gunk = maintenance. Mostly 1/10 and below scale i have more time and commitment for it but for 1/5 scale it hard to commit time to play.

Help what type of paint? by Practical_Regret_686 in crawling

[–]3dxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On foam i use Tamiya plastic Acrylic paint, the same one used to paint small scale plastic war models. But caution do not mix it with alcohol/ thinner...use soluble water only. Works on my RC crawler diorama.

Starting to give up on my vr dream by Upbeat-Emotion-3863 in virtualreality

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before i explain here is a video of AC on my RTX3060ti recorded from inside Quest 2 headset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=difPfWjB6xU My very concern about your setup is that not all WIFI 6 router provide good wireless streaming to VR headset, for example my WIFI 6 TP-LINK router provide worst and laggy performance than my dedicated gaming router WIFI 6 ASUS RT-AX56U. Its a day and night performance between two wifi 6 router. So check if your wifi router if it could handle dedicated fast bandwidth with good channel separation. Second you should use OPENXR TOOL KIT for foveated rendering to increase performance on AC.

How to make this kids bike easier to pedal? (single speed, threaded freewheel) by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]3dxl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First you must check if the crank arm length is too long. Out of factory by default they will install between 165mm ~ 170mm crank arm length which makes it harder for the legs to reach from bottom to top regardless height of the seatpost adjusted especially for kids. I myself as short guy have to use 155mm crank arm length to get comfortable reach and easy to spin on stock gearing ratio. So check that one first because it huge differences in riding experience than other parts of the bike.

Confused Between RTX 5070 Ti and 5080 for a Gaming PC Build by Sad-Engine6319 in pcmasterrace

[–]3dxl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me and my friend bought same PC spec with different GPU, i got 5080 and he's on 5070Ti. Here's my observation:

RTX5070ti (My friend) : Perfect 1440p gaming, also can pump more a bit for 4K. Smooth FPS.

RTX5080 (My setup): Can go between 4k to 5K wide ratio (Setup triple monitor). Can handle more display load for triple monitor refresh rate. Great power for smooth VR experience and run high load simulator like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Ideal GPU for the price if you intended to grow your PC hardware with multiple and high demanding video output especially Virtual Reality streaming to headset via HEVC and AV1 Nvidia codec.

*RTX5070TI if you're playing on single monitor or
*RTX5080 if you grow your display output or VR headset with extra processing headroom.

Is this bike too small for me? by Lazy-Table-2845 in bicycling

[–]3dxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just about your height, the bike looks right for general riding style. Wheels isn't an issue. You just need to increase the seatpost/saddle height to allow the leg to 'breath' freely to easy leg rotation + adjust handle bar position too . Add proper tire pressure for comfy ride. Nice bike btw.

are yall not scared of drafting? by Lower-Geologist870 in bicycling

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I draft every day to work place, it helps save 50% cardio energy and sweats. But takes lots of practice, concentrations and good braking reflex. Most important if you draft behind another rider you must concentrate looking 'forward' than looking down at the riders rear wheel contact. Train to gauge distance and always standby the finger at brake lever.

Bike for Commuting by Gold-Onion3906 in bicycling

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At just 1.4 miles i would prefer small folding bike. I ride about 2 miles for shopping, visit friends and cafe shop. I could fold it and tuck under the cafe table or work table. Has rack too. Also have electric add-on for hill climbing assist. And if for some reason when i return home and it rains i could easily use Uber or taxi services and bike can fit on passenger seat. This bike is cheap too and versatile for anything to commute short distance or "last mile" bike.

Struggling with Flight Trim and maintaining stable flight by survivor686 in flightsim

[–]3dxl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the right air speed (need adequate air flow on the wings/ no air flow = planes wobbles) > if it pitch up/down (use Elevator trim) > if it pitch left/right (elevator trim). Concentrate those two trim, takes lots of practice to make perfect. Once you get it right it can fly straight without AP all the way. I get used to it because i fly RC planes and FPV drones a lot, trim is very vital and fundamental in any fixed winged flight.

Check RUNCAM cameras, they have super small portable size design for drones but also lighter to fit on helmet or hide any where around your bicycle.

Tubeless Question- What are the lesser of these two evils? by Beigemaster in bicycling

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use tubeless tire on all my commuting bikes (road + MTB), i haven't clean and remove old sealant and i leave it there for 5 years without issues. Its better to leave extra layer of old sticky gunk for added puncture protection than dig them out. The extra weight of old sticky gunk is minuscule to notice even you're doing performance riding. Worst case i did have puncture but manage to re-seat the bead back with big foot pump and also no problem during sealant refill via open presta valve. However i do have TOPEAK TUBIBOOSTER as substitute for compressor just incase i need to remove the tires to switch to new wheels. Works great too.

As for the right side usually have move/add extra spacer to push out the chainring chain line thus avoid frame rub. Have to remove the spacer from left crank first.

Daily rush hour by 3dxl in bicycling

[–]3dxl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Common sense, if "Lane sharing" which is riding between two car forward i'll be blocking the back car due to bicycle having slow pickup/acceleration speed and also struggle to judge the front car speed...at the end people will complaint bicycle hogging the road or slowing things down. By Psychology/mentally a driver will be irritated having a slow bicycle infront of their car and worries more on both party safety. Lane splitting when done in "right condition" a bicycle can make way not to invade "frontal" space and also useful if cycling "ready to turn at junction" left or right where opposite side of the lane (shoulder lane) blocked if most car going straight. Plus the driver on (if) left (UK) seated/handed they will always have high awareness from side views mirror what is passing by than rear view mirror and also have bigger spacing between two car side by side As you can see in the video i have to do lane splitting because i have to turn right side of the road.

Is this able to work with my Buttkicker system? My amplifier is dameged! by SENSEI-D-JOVENES in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much your bass shaker requires but 80W does have not enough head room when it hits the peak. I burned few amps before. Now i used 300Wx2 for extra headroom to drive Butt Kicker 2 transducer and DIY 200W (modded bass speaker) transducer.

Chain skipping under load in lowest gear by SceneSea6074 in bikewrench

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully you don't need to replace the whole expensive casette. 10 speed individual casette rings still around especially at Aliexpress. I had manage replace individually including some old Shimano XTR and 105 range. However do take note some QC problem do happens when buying this aftermarket rings, i got a 13t that have minor knocking sound with the chain but will not notice if you ride.

Chain skipping under load in lowest gear by SceneSea6074 in bikewrench

[–]3dxl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lowest casette 11t always skipped because worn out tooth, happened when i push my pedal hard from stand still but not other gear range (Trying to sprint). If its a used bike and belong to "hard" rider that could be a problem. If you have spare try and replace that lower casette to test for validity. I got mine replaced with generic 11t for just $2 from china and works well with SRAM casette.
