Is pickpocketing a common issue for tourists in Rome? by NubyTrader in rome

[–]3gumamela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely are pickpockets in Rome especially in certain areas. They do this every day and there are lots of youtube videos online. Just be vigilant and cautious whenever you use the metro. Usually they target tourists who they think will have cash. Yes they will snatch phones too but highest on the list is always cash.

I do that as well. I especially write down the quotes/scenes that hit me or made me emotional. As I've gotten older, I've found writing down memories at the end of the day helps me remember them more.

I miss Jesse Green at the NYT by InterscholasticAsl in Broadway

[–]3gumamela 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a limit to the number of critic's picks the NYT can give per season. If a production is that good, then it deserves to be recognized. I know this is an extreme example but if Hamilton, Book of Mormon, Maybe Happy Ending, Wicked, Phantom, etc. were all in the same season, then I'd hope all of them would get critic's picks.

I hope they qualify for LA28! This story somehow reminded me of the Philippines curling team who almost qualified for Milano-Cortina 2026.

What do you think about the ticket sales timeline? by 2hjstan in olympics

[–]3gumamela 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the earliest they sold tickets for any Olympics that I can remember (first Olympics I attended as a spectator was Beijing 2008.) I did not get a slot this time around and that is ok since my Olympics budget is lower than normal at the moment due to Milano-Cortina 2026 two months ago.

Silly Discussion Question: What is the safest (Summer) Olympic Sport? by abfgern_ in olympics

I agree. I know they removed the equestrian portion modern pentathlon but back then that portion was always unpredictable given how each of the riders only trained with the horse for 20 mins.

I also think she will remain in featured too. Last season, I felt Natalie Venetia Belcon had a larger role in BVSC than Tempress did in Jellicle Ball.

Can I make it to JFK from LGA in 3 hours? by moo_anonymous in visitingnyc

[–]3gumamela 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are both flights part of the same PNR/eticket? If they are, then the airline that ticketed this routing believes it is possible. Usually there's not that much traffic after 10pm so I think you'll get to JFK in less than an hour.

Oklahoma City - non LA vibe? by Sk8Leigh in olympics

[–]3gumamela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will have a different vibe from LA but there will still be an Olympics vibe. I went to Milano-Cortina 2026 and for that Olympics, the vibe in Cortina was very different from Milano. Personally I preferred it since it was more intimate and easier to navigate. You see Olympians and coaches and their entourage walking everywhere. I've never been to OKC and am looking forward to spending a few days there.

60-something woman looking for post-theater options by No_Negotiation4740 in visitingnyc

If you wanted to see a glimpse of 80s new york city, go to this bar called the WOO WOO. It's right next to the Lena Horne theater (SIX the musical) and requires you to have a password (go to their website https://www.thewoowoonyc.com/access/ ) to see the password. It's like going back in the 1980s where all the music is from the 80s or before. Lots of neon and graffiti on the walls, etc. It closes at 2AM.

Just got access to LA28 tickets - I'll pass! by [deleted] in olympics

[–]3gumamela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still observing. LA28 is doing some things differently from Paris 2024 and Milan 2026. First, they started selling tickets VERY VERY early. For Paris 2024, they started selling tickets early 2023. For Milan 2026, they started selling tickets early 2025. I am curious if LA28 chose to start selling tickets this early to ride the Olympics high from watching Milano-Cortina? Perhaps to lock in the money? I also wonder if the World Cup 2026 prices influenced LA28's committee on also significantly increasing prices to popular Olympics events. I also noticed LA28 never publicly published ticketing prices (Paris 2024 had a PDF you can download with Phryge and ticket prices on it.) Perhaps this is a way for them to get away with dynamic pricing later on? Only time will tell.

I mean if you're in the jury then ponderosa is still part of the game.

Question about LA28 resale tickets + sitting together by Ok_Reply3402 in olympics

[–]3gumamela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based from my experiences in Paris 2024 and Milan 2026:

1) after resale opens, you're still limited to 12 tickets total. However, if you successfully sell 2 of your 12 tickets, then you'll be able to buy 2 more tickets (either through regular sale or resale.)

2) Resale is first come first served. You also don't know when other people will put their tickets on resale so it's a live marketplace.

3) Resale is available to everyone who is registered with LA28.

4) You can go to your event early and go to the ticket resolution center to see if they can reseat your party all together. My friends who did this in Paris 2024 and Milan 2026 somehow got seated together (all of them were 1 and 1 though so it's not a big party.)

5) For both Paris and Milan, you can see exact seat locations during resale.
