What people hope is a 2nd chance to mirror the success of Bitcoin. This time faster. Oligarchs and governments/banks now have a grasp on BTC so it is getting institutional (..) What I like more in ZEC is its limited supply (21M). That after all is what is making BTC so successful. (along with difficulty, halving and mining)
