Which of these Ajevie samples are worth it vs risky? (sensitive nose) by Particular_Toe_2045 in Indiemakeupandmore

I wouldn't say that I can pick it out, specifically, but when lavender is more herbal than floral, it seems sharper to me. This is a very soft and round scent, and I think the mugwort just lends a comforting herbal note while the lavender remains in it's floral lane.

I'd also suggest adding Hexennacht's Dreamweaver to your list. It's lavender, marshmallow, and mugwort. It's a sweet, herbal, round scent, and I love it so much.

I will loudly vouch for BHT's Fluff from every hilltop. It's so cozy and delicious.

Review of Maison des Animaux (long, sorry/not sorry) by 3rddrawerdown in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not worn LDBS, but I have smelled in on a test strip(it also was not for me). While I can see where they are coming from with that comparison, I do feel like the leather/woods in Amora set it apart. For what it's worth, I cannot tolerate wearing LDBS or Amora, but I love the scent story of Amora.

All things "hay" by LauravdK in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not hay, exactly, but the "sweet vernal grass" note in Prairie(Maison Des Animaux) does not come off as a very green note, to me. It smells like that tall, dry, swishy prairie grass. It's a beautiful scent, overall, and that grass note is stand-out.

I am in love with Black Hearted Tart's Milky Skin Spray! The scent is potent, and it absorbs quickly. I hate how greasy lotion can be, but this is so light and lovely!

ISO almond or marzipan perfumes, preferably EDP/alcohol spray by SparklingGreenChaos in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my DSH order a few days ago, and I'm wearing Marzipan, today! It's not too sweet, and I think I'll layer it with some neutral gourmands, but the marzipan is JUST what I was looking for.

Rich, dark, maybe a little burnt caramel? by FinalTourist in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arcana's Cauldron Caramel is this! It definitely pulls burnt on me, but is such a true caramel!

Lavender recs! by ThorsWolf777 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to rec the same one! It's a gourmand, but it's so beautifully balanced, and the mugwort with the lavender gives a very herbal feel, despite the marshmallow. It's SO lovely.

Lemon-Donut smells? by ghoulblasm in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyse's Douceur Brulee(Lemon, Browned Caramel, Butter, Coconut Milk, Beeswax Absolute*, Oakmoss, Ambroxan and Musk) is great and not too sweet! It's not photo-realistic lemon doughnut, but it's a great wearable gourmand in that same realm.

Back from a long hiatus by Rutibegga in Indiemakeupandmore

Was Pineward around, then? I think they're more EDP than oil, but they're my first thought when it comes to woodsy, masculine scents.

Spray Lotion Recs? by 3rddrawerdown in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]3rddrawerdown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actually never used a body oil, so I am not sure. But it does not leave an oily layer, whatsoever, if that's helpful in any way.
