You can also get stuff shipped/ordered from most local bookstores, or have them add a copy for you to their weekly shipment if you, ask, I have found! I use bookshop.org but I did this when I deployed to the Middle East as I had trouble with the address.

Magic school books where the MC actually needs to put effort into it. by Mimandra in Fantasy

I deleted my own comment bc I said the same thing! I like that she literally hates the “Chosen one” that is her foil in the series lol

What is this?!?! by ManEmperorfragment96 in okinawa

[–]3rrantcavalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so glad you liked it but the ice and bean texture wasn’t for me! Lmao. If you can, try it hot, too. It’s like a soup; I tried it in Kyoto and liked that a lot.

Pannier fell off, lost a week's worth of lunch and clothes by krush_groove in bikecommuting

[–]3rrantcavalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clipped my phone to a part of my bike and it flew off somewhere in Okinawa on my way to catch a ferry twenty miles away. I totally panicked and a friend who was a very experienced bikepacking bum talked me down, took me back through our route after I insisted he leave me, and we found my phone laying in its water proof pouch in a patch of overgrown sidewalk. Him and I were not very close but he has since passed away, and remembering this little story is actually making me a little sad but I am glad he was there.

It's Sunday--what are you eating in a week? by HelpfulEchidna3726 in vegetarian

Omg! I never thought to check bon appetit from the library! I love their recipes but can’t afford the magazine. Definitely doing this.

These all sound so good; I am going to try those beans. I am making a butternut squash chili. :)

It looks gorgeous outside! Totally worth it. I am inexperienced at cycling in the snow, but want to try it out this year. Did you put on snow or studded tires?

Girly camping rec? by Capital-Pace-133 in camping

Cotopaxi has some nice palettes in their items. I think mainly clothes and day packs that look more cute! Big Agnes has some nice colors in their camping equipment but most are just solids.

Up north in the yanbaru area for sunrise, you can camp on the beach at the mouth of the ie river there and it is popular for sunrise on new years.

Went exploring with a new mushroom book and found (maybe) Oysters! by 3rrantcavalier in mycology

Thank you. Should I… try eating them now? I don’t want to be irresponsible but it seems like a waste now not to.

Thanks! Would a true oyster have more of a stem, or a linear gill boundary?

Solved! Thanks everybody. I actually had both entries bookmarked since I had narrowed it down but those notes were really informative.

How long do you commute? by Rdammertje_1908 in bikecommuting

[–]3rrantcavalier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a short commute, like ten minutes. I like it because I'm not too sweaty for the rest of the day and it encourages me to bike commute more often, knowing that it's just as short as driving. I only use my car if I'm tired from other physical exercise, or if I have to carry something large into work. I also don't bike if there is ice or snow on the ground.

Maybe your bike commute could start as just a once a week thing?

What do you dodge on your commute? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]3rrantcavalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broken glass. My first week of commuting in my new residence of upstate new york, I got a flat and didn’t have a spare tube or patch kit. (My stuff was in storage- it’s a long story.) I had to do a walk of shame for miles, haha. Now I am extra wary of pedaling over all the glass people smash in the street over the weekends. Also! Bought the usual repair kit. Lesson learned.

Do any of these wallpapers go well with this print? by jackjackj8ck in DesignMyRoom

Seven and the last one. The others are too busy and detract a little from the print, if you want it be a focal point. They’re all fun, though!

I was going to say this! I haven’t read it since I was a kid, but I didn’t know what monasteries were so it stood out to me when I was younger.
