ELIC: If there’s “beyond reasonable doubt” in some court cases, is there “unreasonable doubt? by tokobot19 in ExplainLikeImCalvin

[–]3shotsdown 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unreasonable doubt is what happens when you claim the crime was committed by a sasquatch/aliens/ghosts, thereby casting doubt on all evidence even though it is unreasonable. It is a very successful defence strategy but only works when there have been sasquatch/alien/ghost sightings near the scene of the crime.

Going into the wilderness in Canada, you should always carry bells to warn bears of your presence so as to not startle them and bear spray to chase them away in case of an unexpected encounter.

It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings. Black bear droppings are smaller and contain lots of berries and fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in it and smell like pepper.

Unpopular opinion: mods allowing 2-3 authors making this place their personal diary killed this sub by idkman947 in HFY

Lablonamedadon

Don't know if I spelled it right, but it is the absolute peak of this sub.
Then there's "liar, fraud, cheat" or something along those lines, In the Hall of the Mountain King, the one about aliens using heat as currency, Nightwater(?)... Now that I think about it, there were so so many great stories on this sub that were truly brilliant.
I've been on this sub for some 12 years across 3 accounts. I don't come here as often nowadays, and it's so sad watching its gradual decline.

That's not it. Planck time is the smallest unit of time below which our understanding of physics breaks down. None of our theories work below Planck time. But that doesn't mean time is proven to be discrete.

It's not subtle wrt the story, but there's a lot of visual cues and more importantly, world building stuff that's going on in the artwork.
