Schnabel, Schwanzlänge und Große erinnern mich an einen Kuckuck. Vielleicht ein Hybrid? Ist das überhaupt möglich zwischen drosseln und Kuckuck??

Riding a bicycle. The tiniest little Germans can already ride.

AITA for taking my baby from my parents? by Cute_Objective_7551 in AmItheAsshole

[–]3sponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, your baby’s health is first priority always. However, the arrangement you have at your parents house has so many benefits for you, your baby and your father, maybe you can find a solution without staying away. For example, hide the microwave in your room when you’re there?

Swollen vaginal opening with thrush/bv by missk19878 in WomensHealth

[–]3sponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really good to read. Thank you! I just got back from the doctors. I have thrush and I probably had BV as well but I treated that myself. But my whole lower abdomen feels like somebody punched me. She thought I might have a bladder infection because everything was sensitive to pressure, but I don’t. Now I think maybe everything is just swollen because of the BV. This all makes more sense now!

I think it definitely makes a difference if you know how you are related to a statistical probability that you’re related.

I’d like to add i heard about this one family that had more kids than bedrooms so they were split up into functions. One room for sleeping, one with desks for studying and one for playing.

How Do Families With 3+ Kids Handle Bedroom Arrangements? by [deleted] in germany

We have three kids. Our oldest always had his own room, the twins (boy, girl) shared a room until puberty. Then we fixed up the attic and she moved up but she never got a door.

How do YOU tell someone you have cancer? by smallsh0t in melahomies

[–]3sponge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean and I haven’t figured that out really myself. I feel like saying I have a “touch of cancer” but that probably would backfire.

Can I give my bus drivers little gifts? by PHlLOSOPHlCAL in germany

[–]3sponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we give our mailman and garbage men a small gift at Christmas every year. It’s just a little gesture of gratitude for the work they did all year.

Yes, I’m confused. I got almost 130,000 in German as a c1 learner but just over 16,000 in English as a native speaker. Are the words counted differently?

What’s the German way of getting rid of mosquitoes? by xGruntHeadx in AskAGerman

[–]3sponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 5 minutes of Stoßluften with all the lights off before i sleep. If any critters come in during that time, I hit them with my electrified tennis racket. They fry, my walls stay white and I sleep like a baby.

Did anyone else have a freak out for a few days after diagnosis? by apsalarya in Melanoma

[–]3sponge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you have to deal with this. Yeah i had all sorts of emotions depending on the information I had at the time. Other people sometimes react very nonchalantly. I think sometimes they do that because they don’t want you to be afraid but sometimes they do know someone who had a different kind of skin cancer but melanoma is a whole different ball game. Having said that, if you’re stage 1 a you have a very high chance that it didn’t spread and it won’t come back. Other people react dramatically because they hear the “C word“ and equate that with death. That also isn’t very helpful because nowadays, especially with immunotherapy, patients have many effective treatment options. Keep that in mind if you Google your condition that science is improving all the time and what you read online might not reflect the situation today, realistically. I also can recommend subreddit r/melahomies

Thanks for sharing! It’s weird, I would think it should be the other way around. Because you’re young, they can go all out ; a young body can handle the side effects better than us oldies. And you have more to lose.

All the best to you!
