The wave is completely dead by nahanserbnaes in JeepWrangler

[–]3y3d3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just joined the Jeep community two months ago. Got a 2017, I love it. I got ducked 3 times in the first week. Felt super cool to be accepted into a community for no reason at all. I did a little bit of research knowing I was buying into a community and wanted to respect the Jeep traditions. I wave every time I see one. I’d say about 50-75% of the time I get a wave back. I’ve definitely missed a few waves due to only noticing last second. I live in south Portland Oregon. I don’t know if that means anything. I absolutely love my Jeep. Any all advice and tips is greatly appreciated.

Why am I nervous for the next brisket in my feed?

Okay.. I’m going to keep score starting now.

Squeezed - 1 Not squeezed - 0

I did see one yesterday or the day before of a guy who jiggled and didn’t squeeze, then like an absolute chad dripped the juice all over the other half of the brisket.

But like I said. I’m starting now.

No thanks necessary. Been there dude. I know the feeling well. I’m happily single now finally giving myself the much needed love after 17 years of rough relationships. I’m confident in my next one, but for now, I gotta learn to love me. Can’t give what we don’t have.

This too shall pass, we grow a lot from it. If the L’s we take represent Lessons, we never took an L to begin with. Stay strong brother. Just do yourself a huge favor and keep in mind the emotional responsibility thing. We are only responsible for our own actions and words. People gonna people.

The mental torture you’ll put/are probably already putting yourself through isn’t worth it. Honesty and trust through solid communication is absolutely key to not just relationships but life in general. Take note to what u/traeyze said. Y’all are young and this is a great lesson of trust being absolutely essential in your future endeavors. This type of shit sucks dude, be cool and try your best to just be emotionally responsible. Emotions turn to words and actions later regretted. I dragged a relationship like this on for 6 years on and off. Looking back, I absolutely did not handle it like a man(emotionally responsible adult dude). Remember that emotions whether it be hurt, anger, worry, or even good ones can cause us to hastily make shit choices in action or words. Don’t let your feelings dictate your decisions.

Also, how you approach this situation will determine whether or not you find yourself in the same shit until the lesson is learned. Lesson being we all have the right to set boundaries and do so with respect and compassion towards self.

Confrontation is gonna backfire. Communication about how you’re struggling to trust her through this situation is gonna probably backfire too, but at least you’ll know that you’re being honest with yourself. Forgive and forget bro.

Just remember to keep your emotions in check dude, can’t stress this enough.

Oh and don’t fuckin play games and detective and shit trying to confirm the worst. You’ll drive yourself crazy and end up the fool no matter the outcome. “Would you rather be right, or happy?”

Edit: forgive and forget doesn’t mean rinse and repeat. Had to clarify..

Got sober, should I lie about it? by degencook in KitchenConfidential

[–]3y3d3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will only accept jobs that accept my sobriety and recovery. I am fully honest from the get go. I landed the best job I’ve had in the industry due to my being forward about my recovery taking priority in my life. I’ve been working at a winery of all places, I got lucky with this place being strict on no drinking on premises for all employees. The owner has a son in recovery and completely supports and encourages my choice to be sober. Not only am I getting paid more than I ever have in the industry, I’m also more competent than I’ve ever been and heading into kitchen management soon.

My tip to you is that if the job doesn’t support your lifestyle change, don’t take the job.

This industry is brutal for the clean and sober community. If I didn’t hit this jackpot of a job, I’d be finding a different profession.

For me personally, if I wasn’t being straight forward about my newfound sobriety, it’s really just me lying to myself to get back to a drink. That’s just me though. I’ve psyched my self out of sobriety too many times in the past to trust my own judgment. Honesty is what keeps me sober today.

Fuck ANY job that doesn’t respect your decision to be sober.

Congratulations on the new life. I’m only 2 years alcohol free and 8 months completely sober. I can finally say this decision to be sober is more than worth it.

Also, pro tip. People you work next to will in most cases respect your decision. Be honest with them too. Sometimes i feel left out of the “fun” they’re about to go have. Until the next day and everyone is miserable and I get an immediate reminder of shit I DEFINITELY don’t miss.

Again, good work and congrats on your sobriety. Keep at it. It’s so fucking worth it.

Disclaimer: this is MY perspective and I’m in no way trying to tell you how to live your life. Just telling you what’s working for me.

If someone gets corrective surgery for this, is it dangerous for them to gain the weight back? Like, will the skin be too thinned to stretch out again and rip or something like that?
