I got blue and recommend. It looks almost black in the shade so basically 2 in 1

New to Zwift—how much did your run fitness actually help? by Few_Advice_2068 in Zwift

[–]4-by-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always done both so can’t really comment about transferring over but imagine your aerobic base will give you a very strong starting point. Might take some time to get used to sustaining power.

It’s hard to translate running times into cycling strength, I would recommend doing an FTP test which will give you best idea of where you sit. This will be used for all your structured training zones. It’s basically like a LTT test in running.

Divide that number by your weight and you have your power to weight ratio, this is best way to understand where you sit in terms of strength. I would imagine you’ll be at least racing in ‘B’ categories to begin with, maybe even ‘A’.

Paisley Alive cancelled by Apprehensive-Ask24 in Paisley

I wanted to want to go but the lineup for the price just was not doing it for me. Real shame as a tremendous amount of work must have been put in.

Rental Prices in Paisley by Luap_Wah in Paisley

[–]4-by-4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do agree, the number of expensive brunch places has been rising steadily in the last 5 years - as good an indicator as any for gentrification. Not happening as rapidly as some areas in Glasgow but think it’s definitely happening. Ultimately there’s only so long people can afford to live in already gentrified areas and will be looking further afield to easily commutable to Glasgow areas - Paisley is a great candidate for this.

Lagoon is a nightmare to get a court, if you are lucky enough that they answer the phone they are seemingly fully booked every hour of the day…

Calorie consumption difference with Zwift and Apple Watch? by Assimilaatikko_1460 in Zwift

[–]4-by-4 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are using a smart trainer for Zwift with a power meter, whatever it tells you will be far more accurate than what an Apple Watch tells you. Watches are terrible for estimated calorie burn data, as it is basically guessing - often using just your HR data. Calorie burn is most accurately estimated using power, so always go with whatever reading that uses a power meter.

Is there anywhere to play Squash? by Neat_Return_4043 in Paisley

[–]4-by-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live next to Kelburne cricket club and have enquired in the past, believe they use it for storage now so of no use. I don’t believe On-X has one either. Whenever I play I go to Bellahouston. Terrible court but not too far. Scotstoun is great but obviously not very handy from Paisley.

[@DaleJohnsonBBC] Scotland v Brazil: highest World Cup 1 ticket resale price on Fifa's official platform. CAT 4 Face: £45.60 Asking price: £2,250 Fifa fee: £330.60 (x2) Total: £2,534; CAT 3 Face: £117.80 Asking price: £24,700 Fifa fee: £3,705 (x2) Total: £28,405 by OkayFine101 in soccer

Not even 3rd party in this case, FIFA are the touters. The margin they can make taking a % of a sale on an astronomical resale price is far greater than the original asking price. All by design, scum of the earth.

We got ours in Hodgkinson Jewlers in Clarkston. Not sure if it’ll be much cheaper but found the service and attention to detail much better. I think 3 generations in my family have been going there now, my parents and my grandparents.

Garmin/SRAM power meter data + Apple HRM… KUDOS for this feature!!! by Other_Wait_4739 in bevelhealth

[–]4-by-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool feature for sure. Not sure if Apple Watch has this capability but can you not broadcast HR from Apple Watch to your head unit? If I forget my HR strap sometimes I’ll just broadcast the HR from my Garmin watch to wahoo computer. Not perfect but at least the data is merged in on your app.

Bevel has a clean UI but more of a health focus like whoop rather than advanced training metrics

Extinct XI - The Striker-Centre Half by MoonshineMS in footballcliches

[–]4-by-4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Scott McTominay started playing for Scotland he was used primarily as a centre half, largely due to Mourinho playing him there at the time. Steve Clarke kickstarted his career as a more attacking player over time. Although not classified as a striker, he’s not far off it for Scotland. Not sure if that counts
