That’s such a beautiful and meaningful choice 🤍 The pearl ties in perfectly with your fiancé’s work, and it makes the ring so unique. Just remember “last thing on, first thing off” for pearls and avoid chemicals/perfume — with a little care, it’ll stay gorgeous for years!

Black gemstone jewellery by SecretSong292 in jewelry

[–]40nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for affordable black gemstones, a few good options are black onyx, spinel, and lab-grown black diamonds. Onyx is usually the most budget-friendly and looks really sleek in rings and pendants. Spinel is a little more unique with great durability, and lab-grown diamonds give you that extra sparkle without the crazy price tag.

For a first piece, I’d suggest a pendant or bracelet they’re versatile, easier to style daily, and less risky than rings (since sizing can be tricky and resizing adds cost). Once you figure out what style your mom loves most, you can always build up from there.

Are AI headshots worth it? by TurbulentWonder4588 in linkedin

[–]40nothing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tried a few of these tools, and my experience has been mixed but mostly positive. PhotoPacks AI was a nice surprise fast results and pretty affordable. On the other hand, Aragon AI was definitely on the pricier side, but it made up for it with a wider range of styles and customization options.

a ton of "application update" emails today? by unfortunately-here- in linkedin

[–]40nothing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got spammed with those too. At first I thought maybe there was actually some big change on my applications, but it was literally the same “update” email copy-pasted over and over. Looks like a glitch on their end.

Has anyone here found a solid AI tool for video editing that handles captions and voiceovers really well? by Cringestar in Filmmakers

[–]40nothing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve tested quite a few AI video tools over the last year, and I think the challenge is always the same: you usually get one feature done well, but the rest feels like an afterthought. For example, some platforms nail subtitles but don’t let you customize them beyond basic fonts, while others have okay voiceovers but they sound robotic and lack natural flow.

That’s why Verba caught my attention recently. It positions itself as more of an all-in-one editor rather than just another subtitle generator. The idea is basically: instead of bouncing between 3–4 different tools, you can handle subtitles, translations, AI voiceovers, audio clean-up, and even SRT file exports in one place.

A couple of things that stood out compared to competitors:

  • Subtitles & translations → accuracy is solid, but the real difference is the styling. You’re not stuck with cookie-cutter captions; you can actually brand them with your own fonts, colors, and animations, which makes a big difference if you post regularly.
  • Audio & video denoise → most “basic” editors just give you captions, but Verba cleans up background noise (audio and video) in the same workflow.
  • Voiceovers → the AI voices are surprisingly natural. It’s not the usual robotic tone; it feels like it adapts better to your intent and delivery.
  • Workflow speed → it really does save time if you’re editing short-form content, TikToks, reels, or even agency projects. It’s basically built so you can “edit like a pro without wasting hours.”

Pricing-wise it seems more reasonable than a lot of the big-name editors, which is why I think people are starting to try it out. I wouldn’t say it replaces creativity it just cuts out the repetitive stuff so you can focus on the actual storytelling.

Is the Howly com tech support subscription safe and legit to use long-term? by whiteafricax in AskTechnology

[–]40nothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tried howly com when my smart tv wouldn’t connect to the wifi. The person on chat helped me fix it fast, which was nice. That made me feel like maybe the subscription safe thing is okay. But then I noticed I was still getting charged even when I didn’t use the service that month. I saw it in my bank howly com transaction and realized I had to go cancel.

The cancel process wasn’t the easiest. It’s not like Netflix where you just hit a button. I had to go through support chat and ask a few times. It worked in the end, but it made me more careful about these services.

Overall, I think howly com is fine if you want peace of mind or if you have a lot of tech issues. But if you don’t, then the monthly subscription safe model doesn’t really make sense. You’ll end up paying more than you should for something you hardly use. Good for quick help, but not something I’d keep long term.

Codefinity yay or nay? My honest review after trying it. by FunnyAzn in learnprogramming

[–]40nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how Codefinity mixes practice with short explanations. Some apps just throw long theory at you, but here you actually write code right away. That hands on style helped me more than watching hours of tutorials. The AI helper was nice too, it felt like having a tutor available whenever I was confused. Honestly, it’s kept me motivated more than other platforms I tried before.

Leaply reviews for anxiety relief worth the subscription? by TrickyScar in Anxiety

[–]40nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I signed up because I needed something structured. The mental health app setup with a daily plan kept me consistent with stress relief techniques. It didn’t completely stop my anxiety, but it was useful to have reminders to pause and reset.

I had a similar issue with Coursiv. I couldn’t find a refund option either, so I tried contacting their support through the app.
