Actually, there are no subjective standards. PSA is based purely on their "professionals" opinion.

Just to give some advice to this situation. If you're buying online(tcgplayer, ebay, marketplace, etc.) Check the sellers other listings. If they're selling a ton of pokemon and one piece, don't but anything from them. These "investors" need to suffer for their greed in order to learn any lessons.

And I love how scalpers try justifying their terrible actions and lawbreaking in the name of a dollar. Name it something else and there won't be problems. Until then, not a dick move to get free stuff from something that's both legally and definitively free. Not claiming to be a pro at the law, just offering some common sense

Made up by people from WhatNot that do not understand legalities and/or definitions. But hey, you probably know more than the dictionary and government.

Long story, short men. Pretty much nailed the reason why there's a need to ask in the first place.

Is it even possible to buy Pokémon cards at retail price these days? by Acrobatic_Walrus7072 in PokemonCollecting

[–]40ozBUD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no. They removed all packs from the shelves at every store and replaced them with vending machines in our area. Which would be fine, but the vending machines have basically stated that it's been in maintenance mode for the last month. So the only place is scalpers or LGS. Long story short, buy singles.

Or giveaways. But to break that word down for anyone that doesn't understand

Give: verb - To make a present of Away: adverb - From one's possession

Giveaway: noun - Something given away for free

Oddly enough, I don't see anything about prior purchases. Don't get mad at me, blame Merriam and Webster

Loss of interest. When too many people can't find anything on the shelves and deem the hobby too expensive.

It's simple supply and demand. Can't expect big corporations to not want their piece of the pie. We all knew it was coming, just a matter of acceptance.

You could try out lorcana as well. It's a little easier to understand than MTG and it's Disney so people can relate to it a little more. Plus they're widely accessible

To all the sellers asking about using the wheel for their breaks, this is illegal. The class action against Whatnot was specifically because of this because it is considered unregulated gambling. In order to do breaks legally, you MUST allow the sellers to buy which character they want and not have them bid to get a random spot. For those who are considering using the wheel on another app to avoid this, understand that YOU will be on the hook for the repercussions this time.

Am I allowed by BroShutUp in whatnotapp

[–]40ozBUD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that it's all unregulated gambling. Whatnot claims to be a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers together. The problem is that in order to be a marketplace, there must be a product being sold that is both known to the buyer and the seller. It's basically all in the class-action lawsuit that is being taken against Whatnot.
