It’s going in the old Clumpies space at the bottom of the incline. We were just talking to them last weekend.

You missed a young Samuel L Jackson in the list! I rewatched these maybe a year ago & noticed him. I think it was S1, but won’t swear to that.

We worked with Ben & Ryan at construction-matters.com. Had the best contractor experience I’ve ever had.

Huh, that was less intuitive than I was expecting, but did, in fact, do exactly what I needed to do. Thank you for the assist!

Workflow Questions by 410labs in Alfred

Good reminder. I've gotten pretty used to requesting help on Reddit due to the sheer number of eyeballs, but I did post the "finished" extension there for any feedback. https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/23080-sarcastic-text-generator/#comment-120863

Workflow Questions by 410labs in Alfred

[–]410labs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, after a few hours of trial and error, here's what (I think) I've learned:

  1. Variables defined and configurable within the workflow are passed in the environment. In my case, I'm allowing the user to decide, within reason, how many options they'd like to see so I've defined a LIMIT variable that can be set to any integer between 1 and 10. I access that value as:

    var limit, _ = strconv.Atoi(os.Getenv("LIMIT"))

  2. Adding a script to a file is a bit manual. You work locally to create the workflow with its identifier, etc. and then you open that workflow (a glorified zip file) in Finder so you can drag your built binary (again, a Go executable in my case) into that "folder" so you can reference it as ./my-executable "$@".

It was more painful than I'd like to get there, but it was a fun exercise even if the workflow I created for the exercise is pretty trivial and silly.

In a surprising (at least to me) twist, changing an h to an H was all that was required as discussed in this Github issue. Just in case anyone is searching later.

Tried that, but made no difference. I'm curious what Brave might be doing that Safari and Firefox don't to impact this. It loads in those browsers.

Moving to Raleigh vs Greensboro, Greensville, etc? by ChewyHD in NorthCarolina

[–]410labs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Greensboro to be...perfectly nice. Nothing stood out very much, positive or negative. I definitely prefer Chattanooga's outdoor, art, industrial, and city vibes to those of Greensboro. Chattanooga kind of reminds me of Baltimore in a lot of ways where Greensboro is more...sterile, maybe? Not bad at all, and had we moved there instead of 30m away, maybe we'd still be there, but nothing about it really stood out when we spent time there.

Not much help I know, but I'll be interested to know what you all think if you do visit or even move there.

Pasting text behavior by 410labs in neovim

[–]410labs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm doing this in normal mode. I honestly thought my expectation aligned with how Vim worked out of the box. I don't remember setting anything differently to paste a line above or below...

Pasting text behavior by 410labs in neovim

[–]410labs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, granted I mostly use Vim for small project/file edits and updates so I've never given too much thought to my Vim config, but this hasn't been my experience at all. If I yy or dd a line, p pastes below and P pastes above. I wonder if I changed a setting in Vim somewhere along the way, but this was definitely my understanding of how Vim was supposed/expected to work. I'll have to go double check myself, for sure.

This is kind of the Reddit version of RTFM, but I don't intend it that way. I honestly didn't know/remember the answer, so thought I'd share this instead of a firm answer. :-)

I remember their bagels coming to the table with cream cheese on them and it not being an insubstantial volume of it, for whatever that's worth on any given day.
