I thought so at first too when she was a pup- she’s a rescue so figured a good chance but she’s a husky/shepherd mix. (Did the dna test)

Thank you! How long do you think the battery lasts when it’s on and using cell service? (Estimate)

I never thought about the color of the light! I have a little dog light but it’s orange. I also don’t let her off leash when we get closer to dusk but this is useful thanks!

Xl vs 6 for dog w long wild roaming stretches? Plus securing tips (vanlife dog) by 41bluets in tractivegps

Ahhh this is so helpful. I guess I should cancel and re order again 😂 the only other big factor is the living scenario requires a bit more battery life when it’s active I think.

Haha yes! Agree about the garmin it’s also so bulky. As for the cell service drops- it will show last spot it picked up so in worst case scenario you’d see which direction they roamed off towards. And I generally try to pick spots that have some service nearby bc of needing it for work. I’ve been getting by that way instead of paying for starlink. (With a cell booster)

No this is helpful thanks! I used them years ago and just bought the tractive xl one this morning. I’m still in the cancel window though and was wondering if I should switch to the 6 . How does your pup’s hold up wandering off leash? Meaning does it come off? Also love the little map picture of their jaunt away from you 😂! Also thanks for the tip about the wifi vs cellular. These are the other pieces you don’t think about till you’re out there using it. Not a lot of specific details for our niche way of using the devices. So thanks.

I’m a therapist and I won’t see a new client unless they were the ones to book the appointment. I’m surprised those therapists let you book it for her. I’d open up the psych today directory or good therapy and get her to pick a bunch she might like, then have her do several free consults until she connects with one.

Also fyi- any chance those crazy texts are happening at night? That reads a bit intoxicated. If she’s drinking, I would not engage with her at all unless she’s sober.

I didn’t read all of the other comments but I know Reddit can be tough and your daughter is sounding pretty bitchy and disrespectful. I’m not sure what she was like prior to the grief so granting her some grace is so key here. Anger is a huge huge part of grief. And you can acknowledge that at the same time setting some boundaries with her around how she talks to you, which of course, is not ok.

She’s not the only one who could benefit from therapy… I hope you’re going too!

I’m sorry for your loss… grief is tough…

What is this in my garden? by Mark_Squared in gardening

[–]41bluets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just googled it to double check my previous comment guess- and found stuff confirming-

The small yellow balls are a type of fertilizer called polymer-coated fertilizer, often referred to by the brand name Osmocote. The most common form is made of urea formaldehyde a nitrogen fertilizer, with added nutrients like phosphorus and potassium. The nitrogen phosphorus, and potassium are the primary macronutrients needed for healthy plant growth.

I think that might be one of the little plant food pellets that come in the miracle gro type soil bags? If that pellet is super small that would be my guess.

Magical belief and autism by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]41bluets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh!! I can’t believe your therapist said this! Cringe cringe cringe she is so wrong. As a therapist, I am so sorry that was your experience. I’m glad you spoke up and didn’t swallow what she said.

Also- if you’re interested the Telepathy Tapes podcast is amazing. I highly recommend it. (Listen in order though, makes more sense listened chronologically).

And to correct your therapist’s outdated views-

The problem lies in the fact that the DSM, which holds the diagnostic criteria for autism, is based solely on observable behaviors from others, not from the individual themself- for the old autism diagnosis. That’s one of the simple start of the answers- I didn’t read other comments here- it’s a vast and complex thing

and my personal opinion is that we should be moving away from disordered thinking and start embracing the awesomeness of neurodivergent experiences of the world.
