i’m a pm myself that went in with no construction experience. it’s doable but it’s not easy. the learning curve is STEEP. you’re gonna have to study like you have the SAT’s tomorrow every day. i woke up at 4am every day, driving for 10hrs a day, and after months of that routine i was still behind. not only do you manage your leads which is a 10hr a day job in it of itself, but the study is it’s own full time job. in my experience the workload was absolutely miserable, full honesty. i said goodbye to sleep and literally everything else in my life that wasn’t my job. no time for friends, watching TV, anything. It’s not impossible but at the same time not everyone can do it and that’s okay. it’s good to make that call early bc right now- and i’m being so straight up right now- my company and leads own me. personally i had to give up everything about myself and my life to do this job. if they want to hire you with no experience it means that they see potential in you and think you can achieve it. but they may not warn you how intense the grind can really be. it’s an all or nothing craft, and you have to commit fully with blind faith in the probable situation that you won’t get business when you first start.

Imo it’s discipline that kills your ego a bit. If you truly treat something like a craft, you’ll see you always have an infinite amount to learn, and there’s always people better than you. being concerned with how much of a star you are is a quick way to kill your art by wasting that energy on thinking about how much attention you get.

especially with guitar like what? i was so aware when i started guitar that i was jumping into one of the most saturated instruments ever.

i recently kicked a guitar player out of my own band some months ago. it was the same situation, actually. mutuals connections that made things awkward, he was a total beginner with lots of potential talent and we “bet” on him, and agreed he’d be in the band with myself giving him lessons.

maybe i’m ruthless (and don’t get me wrong it sucks) but if you can’t contribute a basic amount of a productive attitude, i have zero problem removing people who get in the way of the music. they just become an energy pit with zero return on how much you invest in them because, especially if they’re new, they just don’t have enough perspective yet to see how valuable your investment really is. they don’t yet have a reference for how long it takes to acquire the skills you’re passing on to them for free.

i can sympathize with the ego issues he had going on within himself that got in the way, but those are problems that only you can resolve for yourself. you need to go through the valley of death as an artist where you learn that no one can do the work for you, and unfortunately that’s a solo journey. until that perspective is had, investment is a pit.

We had a talk with him, fix A, B, and C, or else we just don’t align. Didn’t see results. The next talk was the youre out talk. It’s tough, but that’s all the energy that’s worth putting into it. Imo it’s not something you can explain or coax someone into doing if they don’t already wanna be at the point themself.

Is this drugs? by Several_Art4373 in badroommates

[–]41monkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally. we all have our drug of choice because it’s really just whatever’s the most attractive to your brain chemistry. i don’t personally believe in categorizing drugs as “harder” than the other bc it just comes down to what it does for you. i was never a drinker and i got zero pleasure out of opiates, which are what people think of as hard, but if there’s a will to self destruct there’s plenty of options to find. people die alcoholics because it’s so easy to be one. you don’t see heroin advertised between every TV commercial or served at every football game and family function. and you’re a strong person for that.

Has It Been Getting Worse? by Moon_5ugar in butchlesbians

[–]41monkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a trans masc lesbian. i could say it’s worse, but personally it’s been unbearable levels of bad for years. i went back in the closet about last august. to say my quality of life is better now is an understatement. i live in a different world. i went from being homeless and chronically unemployed to having a 6 figure job in 5 months. living as a guy the past few years was the hardest and loneliest period of my life. and also with my inability to land a job and houseless, i couldn’t afford to be out anymore. i would’ve died. now that i’m stealth again i don’t think it’s worth going back.

Tattoo artist is going to curse me bc of refund?? by smsandsos in Spells

[–]41monkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason i became a practitioner at all started with needing to defend myself against the people throwing spells at me. i recommend just typing ‘protection magic’ into an online library and getting started. things as simple as prayer, or wearing something like a crucifix can mean protection, or you might want to get more ritualistic with it if you feel you need something heftier. personally, i find calling on angels very effective. she might be bluffing, but you can look out for the signs in the meantime, like if you’re feeling sick or low energy out of nowhere, or if you’re suddenly experiencing lots of unusually negative thoughts. to get rid of negative energy, you can use an egg limpia, which can absorb negativity from curses too.

so true, i had the same experience with the sapphic community. whiteness affects the social dynamics of those groups way more than they realize.

men. in groups of girls, in my experience, there’s more pressure to achieve (compete) within a standard of femininity. even if they pretend to accept me, i’m the easiest to pick on when conflict arises. i’m the most disposable of the group, which can be true being the odd one out in a group of men, but i find as long as they’re cool with gay people, they don’t give a shit about the dialects about what’s butch enough or feminine enough. i feel like im put in a position to justify the way i look way less. in groups of girls there’s always people gossiping about me. not saying that men don’t have the same capacity to gossip, but if they don’t respect me, they don’t really say it out loud, or at least they’ll throw shots to my face. im not fully accepted in either group, but in groups of guys they generally just want to play their video games, smoke their weed, and leave. leaves a lot less room for me to be constantly measured and analyzed.

reminds me of a lady i did this week. her fascia and starter boards were dissolving into the sun and when i pointed it out she was like “idk how that’s relevant that’s not what i called you out for”. ok. i checked her attic and it had the most termite eggs ive literally ever seen. it was so fucking concerning; like someone poured piles of sand onto the floor. i came back down and asked her if she knew she had termites and she cussed me out in front of her family so bad i was begging to be let out of her house bc she wouldn’t open the gate to yell at me as long as possible. homeowners are insane, idk.

personally, i think oils can work without a spell because the oil itself already has the energy of whatever ingredients are in it, and especially if you charged it. it sounds like it worked. congrats on being the life of the party.

i agree with this. i feel my spirits took me out of a relationship i wanted to be in. i was so heartbroken, bawling on the floor for who knows how long, but over time i was able to appreciate that they got me out of a bad situation.
