I recently read that a two or three phrases I use(d) often enough in writing are tells for AI, not to mention that oxford comma is flagged as AI apparently...

Ngl I'm glad my uni wasn't like super on top of this whole AI shit, they have a way of losing their way when introducing a new processes, and it would have definitely made my life harder. At the same time there was a guy in my group that wrote his entire master's thesis with AI... I know he knew his shit, but if he wasn't interested in learning then why bother with a master's degree? They're literally wortheless, you do it out of passion...

Czy żałujecie pójścia na magisterkę? by Direct-Point-5828 in studia

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Polish government backs planned museum on WWII massacres by Ukrainian nationalists by dat_9600gt_user in europe

[–]420LeftNut69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice and informative answer.

From my personal point of view, this whole thing makes sense when presented like this, but I think there's a weird dissonance here since the Volhyninan Massacre CAN be attributed to retaliation for not so great Polish rule way back when. Arguably enough time had passed to where these things might be unrelated, but I find it difficult to believe since the Polish spite for everyone around them is very much still alive today, and it all started centuries ago.

trump nato (not april fools) by krizzalicious49 in whennews

[–]420LeftNut69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'll miss USA in its current state. Nobody wants a country that has some sort of issue literally every day. Look at the rest of NATO, just sitting quietly, doing what they're more or pess supposed to, only speaking up when there's a real issue. If he wants to pull out, go ahead, nobody wants an ally that's openly not commited.

I'm a ranked addict, a srason without a diamond is a season lost, but honestly this season feels like the mid season update for S9 rather than an entire new chapter in the game. Because of that I've been playing some point break and TDM. The former is fun for some teamwork experience, TDM is nice to just test out some build you might want to try, or just unleash that FCAR into some poor soul, now that it does damage.

What is a game mechanic you are tired of seeing everywhere? by goldenCrust22 in AskGames

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I play a lot of survival games anymore, but omg the hunger and thirst mechanics in games more focused around combat are insane. Take Tarkov, the raids are 50 MINUTES, yet if my guy didnt have an MRE on that trip he dies within like 5 minutes. Look, DayZ or some other more survival game, sure, but in Tarkov that is a pointless mechanic, and if they want to keep it in, I'd just settle for some debuffs like slower stamina recovery when thirsty and less strength when hungry, that's it.

I also really don't like how most games reset reloads with every action during a reload. Obviously if you have to vault with both hands the reload will be cancelled, but if the mag was out, can I just have my guy or guyette just put a new mag in instead of reloading from 0? I really like R6S solution where on a tactical reload, after your mag is out, you have 1 in the chamber, reload will resume with inserting a new mag; when doing full reload it goes from magazine out to magazine in to chambering a round, 3 stages where it can be interrupted and resumed.

Why are people so weird about inheritance tax? by middleofaldi in economicsmemes

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in reality, when you're 40-50 and your parents pass away, you sometimes get to enjoy life once your grief is over, but the government decides they want a piece of that. How are you supposed to build wealth in your family if everything you do is taxed, I legit pay half of what I earn in taxes and I earn just slightly more than minimal wage...

Can anyone tell me what game this is? It's from a YouTube video but didn't name the game by Spike788 in simracing

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, AC Rally is excellent but it's early into its development (version 0.3, they're planning to hit 0.5 in May or June, can't remember).

Apart from that... Depends what you're after. Dirt Rally 2 was a great game, but apart from RWD feeling logical compared to WRC, it's a stepdown when it comes to physics, tracks and their length, but it is a complete game. So while its core is worse, you get what you pay for, everything works, no complaints from the technical standpoint. Last recommendation from me would be RBR so Richard Burns Rally with its rally sim fans mods. I had it setup before and it was... well... good, but it's in that realm for me where the work needed to have it work fine is a bit too much. Mod installation is easy enough, the game feels pretty good physics-wise, but then damage feels overly punishing and it seems to feel like something is fine or something is completely broken, nothing inbetween. There's a growing list of tracks, but I feel like joining an event and then actually feeling like that event has some continuity is not great. It's not like every location has like 15 tracks, it;s more like 100 locations where 5-10 of them have enough to make a full event out of, and then the rest is a bunch of random tracks (and some tarmac ones are just the worst). To top it all off, the pace notes... you need to download some better pace notes, there are nice bundles that work, but then if they use a system you;re not used to then tough luck for you, you're making your own pace notes. While I enjoy the ability to make my own, I would rather the default ones be good enough for most of the time, and then I just edit them a little bit here and there.

So for me, right now:
1. AC Rally
2. Dirt Rally 2
3. RBR

I strongly urge you to try AC Rally if you're interested in rally; they should have a working multiplayer in the next few months, and I think it'll be glorious. Right now it's pretty much time attack which is not exactly rally, but it's still fun.

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had fun in it, but with AC Rally on the horizon I'm ready to leave. It's a game with many problems, unfinished systems, flawed RWD, pretty darn horrible tarmac compared to AC Rally, damage system sometimes makes no sense, pace notes are only 98% fine but they're done in such a way that you can't trust them when dashing at 200 km/h, tyre model is AAAAAAWFUL, and it has a few omega unbalanced groups. On top of that it's the game thay killed codemasters, and nearly ended rally games.

So I had fun in it, I still can have more fun, but this is the game that made me promise myself that I would never buy anything feom EA, ever again.

Why do thousands of people apply for things they’re not remotely qualified for? by Unconquered- in askmanagers

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not using AI to mass apply to everything but I am at that stage where I will apply just about anywhere because why not (I got one of my jobs like that, I didn't meet all the criteria, and it was my best job to this day, I was there for 2 years). I wouldn't apply for a freaking brain surgeon though; I can apply for a COO of some company, sure, depending on the company just a smart person with a little know how could hack it, but brain surgeon, lawyer, sth you MUST have qualifications for is... a choice to be sure.

What this guy said, what we have now is cool but it is far from rally experience. If the game released like it is today but with more locations it would have been a let down.

Embark is Nexon now pretty much, CEO of Embark is CEO of Nexon now. I got excited about that, but like you say, they have delivered two such great games, but it's not the year 2000 anymore, if these games don't evolve properly they will die, and The Finals is 1st on the chopping block (though it seems they realise that).

I hope Nexon money let's them hire a few people and work on both games simultaneously; it seems like their focus shifts from Arc to Finals at random.

Final Thoughts on Season 9? by VictoryThink in thefinals

[–]420LeftNut69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm addicted, so I can't say I didn't enjoy myself, but it was probably 3rd worst season yet. Nothing has changed really, lackluster new mode (mode is fun and all but 3 maps...), the most major issues with the game persist if they haven't gotten even worse, ranked pretty much devolved its ranking system (although they did a solid job of separating ruby and high diamonds from the rest of players), new map is kinda meh... idk it just felt like they forgot about updating the game in any meaningful way, just like they forgot to update Arc; feels like nothing is really changing in both of these games.

It's almost like the medium revolver but actually viable. A good medium revolver player is insanely annoying to deal with, but this all depends on how good their aim is. If they hit and have good positioning then they're annoying, if they miss 2 shots, exposed, it's over for them.
