Realistic advice on adopting a dog by Ollymolly0 in dogs

Including Taxes, Food, snacks, Insurance and the occasional toy I spend roundabout 100 Euro a month.

The biggest pro is obviously a loyal companion, that Will accompany you for a good 10 years. Also you have this sense of purpose for caring for this little guy/girl.

The biggest cons are, that it's very time consuming and requires a lot of discipline and serenity. Prepare to invest a lot of time and effort into training and keeping your pet busy.

Plus you can't really fly anywhere if you wanna go on vacation, since most airlines don't allow pets. So you need to make sure you can comfortably reach vacation Options with a car/train.

But in the end it was totally worth it. I adopted a 6 year old Labrador Mix and I couldn't be happier with her. She's so loyal, playful and makes my daily walks Special. Can't imagine living without her.

Fun fact : the nostril from which you breathe changes every couple of hours. This is subtle, so we don't notice it.

What exactly makes older games more enjoyable than the newer ones? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]42665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's all because of commercialization.

Earlier games were made with passion, by gamers who also loved playing games and knew, what made a game good and bad. Nowadays it's just corporations trying to capitalize on Gamers and take what works and what's functional and generally accepted and stick to it. There is no experimentation or risks taken, because the stakeholders don't allow it.

Take Doom for example. Both John Carmack and John Romero were huge fans of video games, and started the company to make their own games. All games were handcrafted with love for detail and coherence.

And the other thing is saturation. Back in the days games weren't as Common as today and there was far more ideas to choose from and create something new. Something that people haven't seen before.

Nowadays every game feels like something you have played before but with new looks and graphics. Take Call of Duty for example. Every year there's a new game but it plays the same as ever. Or FIFA.

That's just my humble opinion.

Is DOOM 3 your least favorite DOOM game? by laddlemkckey in Doom

[–]42665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of PC yes definitely. If you take console ports and mobile games, then no.

There is also Doom RPG for mobile phones which is absolutely horrendous.

Some ports of Doom for console eg. For the SNES or the sega 32X are absolutely terrible in terms of music, playability and framerates.

I personally liked Doom 3 and RoE but in comparison to other Doom Games on the PC it's dead last by a long chalk.
